Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. None of the plot-holes related to time lines on this page are relevant. X-Men: Days of Future Past led to a new time-line being written. Advancements in satellite technology, bands and film release dates changing and if there has been a great deal of battleground activities changes in nuclear programs. The premise of the previous movie was to rewrite time. So pointing out that things don't match up to how time was, is not a goof. It's effective and consistent with all causality theories. See more »
Mutants: born with extraordinary abilities, and yet still, they are children stumbling in the dark, searching for guidance. A gift can often be a curse. Give them the greatest gift of all, powers beyond imagination, and they may think they are meant to rule the world.
