Storyline

In this experimental southern comedy, documentarian Missy Palmer adds her unique spin to the life story of Daddy O' the rescue horse. She traces his roots - from the Atlanta ghetto to his current life as a semi- successful show horse and finds an unusual cast of characters from his sketchy past. Amish families, buggy drivers, black cowboys, an unpopular pig and a man with a wooden leg all step up to claim this equine renegade as their very own. Written by Anonymous

A fun and unique documentary about a very special horse
24 August 2014 | by valk-dianaSee all my reviews

A real gem of a documentary telling the story of a spunky rescue dressage horse D'artagnan and his life growing up in the backyards of Atlanta (where he was originally called Daddy-o!). The story is told through entertaining interviews with the amazing variety of people (Lynn is my fav) who have known D'artagnan throughout his life. Though the film is seemly all about D'artagnan, the secondary focus is the director Melissa Palmer. Her presence is felt throughout the movie and she has a unique way of approaching her subject that is both disarming and funny. I also love the music recorded by Page Campbell. It goes really well with the dreamy opening sequence. An enjoyable watch with a great cast of characters!
