Elegaic, beautiful, moving and uplifting short film
This short film moved me to tears. Amazing for a film without any speaking. The story is simple but well told, all about a little girl who grows up wanting to wear the dresses in a shop down the road. Gorgeous photography, and for a Brit abroad, I was amazed to see Russ Abbott, yes, RUSS ABBOTT in a small but twinkly- eyed role.
The performances from the two young actresses were great. So natural. I'll also keep an eye out for this first time writer/director Jessica Elisa Boyd, who also plays the older version of the girl in the film.
I'm not sure if this film has been shown in any festivals. I saw a DVD copy that a friend had. Sort of thing that wins awards IMHO.
