Spilt Blood Review

Warning: Spoilers
Overall, this is not my normal particular style of film. I thought it was too dramatic of a flair in the acting style and how it was presented. It probably would been better if it was more subdued.

I thought the black and white cinematography came out good in showcasing this type of film, and the vampire teeth were very realistic and believable. I also liked the fact that the makeup style was the same for all the vampires across the board.

The werewolf voice was not very well enunciated at times, so it was difficult to understand what was being said. I thought the werewolf makeup could have been improved upon.

Rough around the edges, but still worth a watch

I liked the choice of this being in black and white, giving it the feeling of being from another time, which is perfect for the genre. This film is a little rough around the edges as far as quality, but some of it I think has to do with how much camera technology has improved over the last couple of years for the independent filmmaker. I liked the effect of the sparks flying down in the lair. Phranque Wright is the strongest talent in this film, giving a whimsical and fun take on the vampire. Some times it felt like I was watching a play with each scene. Still a fun flick if you like vampires and werewolves.

Theatrical Blood

Warning: Spoilers
Hey guys!

Not sure how I feel about this one. It was shot black and white which I don't mind at all. However, during parts of the film ... it felt like a veil hiding imperfections. Don't be confused that I'm saying that imperfections were abundant or existed everywhere. That's not what I'm saying at all. It just felt unneccessary. But we all have our own artistic visions. To me, the film played like a theatrical play which I didn't like. It felt like the cast was acting to the guy in the back instead of for the camera. The main vampire felt like it was playfully doing a Svengoolie which is fine, but I don't think that was intended. Finally, let me say I wasn't fully invested in the writing. I felt the ending was overdone.

Now let me talk about what I felt were positives. I thought the length was good. I thought the teeth looked good(which isn't common in many films including some major ones). I liked the werewolf makeup. I like the way it was shot in terms of angles and direction(as in director scheme).

A must watch werewolf vs vampire film
skribblegirl7 May 2023
We saw this in a pizza parlor because we were on the road when it premiered. Pizza and a werewolf vs vampire movie makes for a great time.

Filmed in a haunted house in black and white, it's definitely one that's a must see for fans of the genre. The cinematography was excellent, the acting was fabulous, and it had a really strong story with lots of action that made it entertaining.

Maybe I'm just biased because my husband played Young Poe , but I really enjoyed this.

Willy, if you're reading this, I think you're amazing at what you do and I wish you only the best in future endeavors.

Congratulations to the cast on a great film!
