Joe states Cruz was promoted to Seargent First Class. This is an Army rank. Even though Cruz was in the Marine Corps in Season 1 prior to becoming a Lioness, this does not appear to be an error as Cruz is also wearing Army uniform and later states that she got put into "green", referring to the task force color code of the Army's 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force).

She's back!

Taylor Sheridan has sneakily been holding back: in this episode co-star of the show Laysla De Olveira returns (under Zoe's coercion) to rejoin the team in order to shadow Genesis Rodriguez on the main mission, due to fears that Genesis could be a double agent.

Sheridan stresses the political maneuverings and truly alarming disregard of moral issues in the way CIA and DEA, among other governmental agencies, operate, all supposedly in national "patriotic" fashion. One particular speech, by new character Kirk Alcevedo, adds paranoia to the mix, claiming the Mexican (and other) cartels now control cities and governments all over the USA - a bit of red meat hyperbole Taylor likes to infuse in his fictional dramas.

Having both actresses Laysla and Genesis on Zoe's team together is a terrific plot twist that should animate the suspense and drama for the rest of the season.
