Spice Up Our Love

Spice Up Our Love is a spin off from the Kdrama 'No Gain, No Love'. You definitely want to watch that first to provide context...and actually it fits best to pause NGNL right after the scene where Nam Ja-yeon wakes up in the hospital after thinking Bok Gyu-hyun had been killed and watch SUOL before continuing with the rest of NGNL. This will greatly help make Nam Ja-yeon's actions during the rest of NGNL make much more sense and does not spoil anything...all of SUOL occurs before or at that time point in the overall story.

The Nam Ja-yeon behavior during the last part of NGNL had not really made sense to me until I watch SUOL. I realize it would have been difficult to splice that large of a time slice with the secondary leads into the main film but not doing so inserted some character development dissonance into the main story-line.

Spice Up Our Love si a cute, slightly goof short series in its own right though so give it a watch even if you don't want to spend the time on NGNL. Han Ji-hyun and Lee Sang-yi are great together and it is a fun romp watching Han Ji-hyun react to her situation and try to escape back to her real life.
