Excellent 18-minute documentary has make-up legend Tom Savini being interviewed about his work on THE BURNING. The interview can be found on the Shout Factory! Blu-ray, which also has three other featurettes among other extras. If you're a fan of 80's slashers then obviously you've heard of Savini and if you've seen enough extras then you know he loves to talk about his various creations. This documentary does an extremely good job at giving the viewer plenty of information ranging from how he got the job to the jobs he turned down to do it and even how he was called to direct a certain scene.

It's somewhat interesting to hear Savini talk about turning down Friday THE 13TH PART 2 in favor of this and he even takes quite a few shots at the F13 series. As for THE BURNING, there's a lot of great talk about the various special effects that were created and why so much blood and gore was used. Savini also talks about how most of the gore was removed from the theatrical run and how the film had trouble getting into some theaters. If you're a fan of Savini or the film then you're certainly going to love all the stories as well as the behind-the-scenes footage and photos.
