Trivia The Norwegian director André Øvredal was inspired to do a horror movie after attending a screening of The Conjuring (2013). He immediately called his agent and told them that they should try and find a good horror script for him. A month later they showed him this script and he was immediately interested. See more »
Goofs Jimson Weed, Datura stramonium, is believed to have originated in Mexico, not New England, and can be found throughout the United States, (including the South and West,) and the rest of the world. The plant also has no paralytic properties, though ingesting it can cause seizures, strong hallucinations, delirium, tachycardia, hyperthermia (high body temperature), mydriasis (dilated pupils), bizarre behavior, and death. Crazy Credits At the end of the "Special thanks" section, the last entry is the single word: "Troll". André Øvredal's previous feature film was Trollhunter (2010). See more »
Quotes Emma: What's that for?
Tommy: To make sure he's dead. There used to be a time it was hard to tell a comatose person from a dead one, so coroners tied bells to everybody in the morgue. So if they heard a 'ting', they knew somebody down there wasn't quite ready to go.
Emma: So, why do you have one?
Tommy: Well, I'm... I'm a bit of a traditionalist.
