Alexandra Holzer, the daughter of the man who wrote "Murder in Amityville," is the focus of this featurette that can be found on the AMITYVILLE II: THE POSSESSION Blu-ray from Shout Factory. This featurette actually clocks in at a whopping 29-minutes and starts off pretty good as Holzer talks about her father's work on the original case and what eventually made it into the book. From here we get to here a few stories about her father selling the book to Hollywood as well as a couple stories about his time on the set. She also talks about what makes a good paranormal movie.
All of that stuff was quite entertaining and it was certainly good getting to hear from someone connected to the book to tell a little about what they thought of the movie. I enjoyed this portion of the featurette and it probably should have ended there but then it drags on into a discussion about currently paranormal reality shows. Again, a bit too long but it was okay. Things then turn into a discussion about sexism in the paranormal field and this is when the featurette pretty much falls off the rails and becomes less interesting. I'm not saying the story itself isn't interesting but it really wasn't connected to AMITYVILLE II so....
