Spoils of War

I really didn't enjoy this episode due to the manner in which they developed the story. The episode was clearly designed to try and evoke emotional responses in the audience, particularly empathy with the main characters which we've got to know over the past few seasons. However the episode was written in such a way that no part of the episode seemed even remotely logical. All decisions made by the characters were irrational and out of character. You can't help but get the impression that the writers were just so desperate to create drama and twists, that they'd write anything into the episode.

I've given it a 5/10 because the foundation of the episode isn't a bad one, and some of the moral dilemmas they incorporate into the story aren't bad either, but the manner in which they go about it is awful.

This is an episode that will be enjoyed by those who enjoy idealistic (albeit naive) stories, where the "good guys" always do the "right" thing regardless of how plausible it may be to succeed. As a result though, people like me who appreciate more realistic stories, will find this episode to be annoying.
