- Zoe, Madison, Misty and Queenie undergo the test of the Seven Wonders, seven magical challenges that will determine the coven's next Supreme.
- Cordelia gathers the four witches and tells them that Fiona should have identified the next Supreme. As she did not, they will have to be tested in accordance with The Seven Wonders procedures. The competition begins and when they have to descent to hell, Misty Day is trapped and never returns. Madison seems that will win the competition, and Myrtle Snow convinces Cordelia to participate in the dispute. Zoe dies and Madison refuses to bring her back. When Madison finally fails, she says that she will leave the coven and denounce the witches to the media, but Kyle strangles her and together with Spalding, they hide her body. Cordelia becomes the next Supreme, but she need to take tough decisions.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Stevie Nicks strolls through the Academy singing, appropriately enough, "Seven Wonders," as the girls each practice the magical feats on their own.
Zoe works on levitating the bed, Misty regrows a plant, Queenie tries a voodoo spell to reach Nan. They come downstairs, Stevie wishes them all luck and twirls away.
Gathered at a long table, a la Da Vinci's "Last Supper," Myrtle has prepared caviars on blinis with champagne. "For one of you, a last moment of anonymity before assuming the Supremacy. For any one of you others, possibly a last meal," she says.
Cordelia recaps that Fiona was supposed identify her successor, but since she failed to, each of the four girls will be given a chance. The next morning, Myrtle notes the break with tradition, instead of the usual easiest to hardest, they begin with her personal favorite: telekinesis.
Kyle lights a candle in front of each of the four girls. Misty says she can't do it. "Then you're not the Supreme," Cordelia tells her.Misty gives it a try and, after some concentration, the candle slides toward her. Queenie moves hers effortlessly, as does Madison. Finally, Zoe does the same. Next, concilium aka mind control. Misty makes Queenie slap herself silly. Queenie gets her back by making Misty pull her own hair. Madison and Zoe stare each other down.
Madison makes Kyle drop the tray of wine glasses he's holding, then makes Zoe hit herself. Madison brings Kyle over to her and forces him to kiss her as she stares down Zoe. So Zoe uses her power to drag him over and kisses him. Then Madison has Kyle start to strangle Zoe. Finally, Cordelia ends it.
Then it time for the descent into Hell, if their souls aren't back by sunrise, they're stuck. The four of them lie on the floor and recite the chant together.
Queenie finds herself back in the fried chicken shack, but wakes up quickly. Madison comes back shortly thereafter. "It was horrible, I was stuck on a network musical, it was a live version of 'The Sound of Music.' I wasn't even the lead, I was Liesl," she says.
Zoe comes back next, she was stuck in a loop of Kyle breaking up with her over and over, saying he didn't love her. Misty is still gone, stuck in high school science class. She reanimates her frog, so the science teacher makes her dissect the living frog. It happens over and over and over again, with Misty screaming in terror each time. In the morning, Cordelia wants to help her, but Myrtle says there's nothing they can do. Cordelia cradles her and tells her to listen to her voice, but the sand slowly flows from the hourglass and runs out. Time is up and Misty disappears in a pile of dust.
Up next is transmutation. The girls play a teleporting game of Tag, sneaking up on each other and squealing with delight at the first fun they've had in ages. Until all of a sudden Zoe ends up impaled on the top of the wrought iron fence spikes, skewered up in the air.
They take her into Cordelia's greenhouse. Queenie tries to bring Zoe back, but can't. Cordelia tells Madison to do it to prove herself, but she doesn't want to. Instead she kills a fly and brings it back, then refuses to do the same for Zoe, saying she lost fair and square. She demands to be crowned Supreme. Later inside, Cordelia thinks she's failed the coven. "If Madison Montgomery really is all that is left of us maybe it really is better this way. Maybe we deserve to die out," she says.
Myrtle thought it would be Misty or Zoe. She thinks Zoe "had the makings of a fine leader."
In the greenhouse, Kyle cries over Zoe, asking why she left him.
Inside, Cordelia thinks her mother was right all along about Madison. But Myrtle has a realization. She thinks Cordelia was first oppressed by her mother and then by her own delusions, Myrtle insists Cordelia perform the Seven Wonders.
Later, Cordelia challenges Madison. Cordelia lights a candle with her powers, then the fire in the fire place. Next, she makes Queenie dance and raises the grand piano off the floor. She heads down into Hell and takes her time coming back. She saw herself trying to get Fiona's approval and getting "bitch slapped for it." Cordelia zaps herself across the room, performing transmutation -- the fifth wonder.
Madison is ready to continue competing. They move on to divination.
Myrtle hides items belonging to former Supremes around the house. She spills pebbles and tells Cordelia to find the item belonging to Mimi DeLonre. Cordelia announces a location and Queenie returns with the item, which Cordelia knows is her brooch. Madison is told to find the item belonging to Anna Lee Leighton. Madison stares at the pebbles then announces she's not doing it.
She wants to reanimate Zoe instead, then rages about having to do this when she has so many other powers. She gives it one more try and guesses a couple of locations, but gets nowhere. Finally, she gives up, angrily turning on them and saying she's going back to Hollywood "where people are normal." She warns them TMZ will be there soon after she outs the coven. The coven has a moment as se storms off.
She goes upstairs to pack, but Kyle finds her and grabs her. He asks why she let Zoe die. Madison pleads with him that she did it for them, because she loves him. Down in the greenhouse, Cordelia attempts to breathe life back into Zoe. Upstairs, Kyle whispers to Madison: "You're not that good an actress." He chokes her around the neck until she dies.
In the greenhouse, Zoe sits bolt upright and takes a deep breath. Cordelia falls over.
Kyle stands over Madison's body and tries not to be surprised when Spalding arrives. He says the fact she'd started packing means people won't look for her.
"Who the hell are you?" Kyle asks.
"The help," Spaulding says.
In the greenhouse, Cordelia is back on her feet, with her eyes back intact. Everything is in full bloom.
"Behold, the one true Surpeme," Myrtle says.
Later, Cordelia sits down for a TV interview discussing the coven frankly. She invites anyone who thinks they might be a witch to call or email.
Myrtle drops in on Cordelia to tell her she's proud. Cordelia wants to make Queenie and Zoe the new council, to give them elevated positions at the school.
But Myrtle thinks to fully realize her Supremacy, Cordelia has to step away from the past. "We all know what happens to a witch who grievously harms another witch," Myrtle reminds her of using a melon baller to take out the former council's eyeballs for Cordelia.
"You want to be burned at the stake -- again?" Cordelia asks. Myrtle says now that Cordelia has realized her potential, her life's work is completed. But Cordelia calls Mrytle her true mother and rejects the idea.
Myrtle refuses to allow her to be a hypocrite.
Dressed in her finest red gown, Myrtle wears fashionable shades as she is tied to the stake and doused with gasoline. Cordelia pronounces her sentence through tears and asks for her last words. Myrtle has just one, which she screams before the flames engulf her: "Balenciaga!"
Cordelia ignites her and Myrtle's screams burn away quickly to ashes.
Hordes of goth young girls dressed in black line up outside the Academy. Cordelia comes to Zoe and Queenie, asking for their help to develop and celebrate young witches. She asks them to be the council. But before they open the doors, Cordelia gets a chill.
She goes downstairs to see Fiona waiting for her. She urges Cordelia to look more closely at her death. Flash to Fiona explaining to the Axeman that she's going to Paris for a few days until Cordelia sorts out the Seven Wonders. She tells him they still have a deal, but first she needs to plant a memory in his mind. He passes out and she stages the scene with blood, then walks out.
Back in the house, Fiona tells Cordelia she knew they'd finish off the Axeman. Fiona's cancer has consumed her and she's near death. She tells Cordelia she was a constant reminder of her own mortality and fear.
"I loved you plenty, though, just my own way -- which I'll admit had its limitations. Your fault was you were always looking for another version of motherhood," Fiona says. Fiona can feel her power in Cordelia.
Cordelia sheds a tear for her own childhood lived in terror of Fiona. Fiona urges her to put her out of her misery and hands her daughter a knife.
Cordelia hugs her and tells Fiona she's having a human moment and she has to do this on her own and the only way out is through.
She hugs her mother again and realizes it might be the first time. Fiona goes slack in her arms.
Fiona wakes up, healthy, in a bed in a country house. The Axeman comes through the door with catfish for her. She yells at him, and he asks her why they have to go through this routine every morning. Every morning she wakes up and acts like she's never been there before -- but she's there for eternity.
She thinks Cordelia did this to her. She's horrified by the country and the knotty pine walls and screams about the idea of being trapped there. The Axeman takes her in his arms to dance with her and Fiona sees Papa Legba, laughing at her.
Back in the house, Cordelia, Queenie and Zoe open the doors to the young witches. Kyle serves as butler. Cordelia gives the welcoming remarks, telling the girls that "together, we can do more than survive. It's our time to thrive."
"What's a Supreme?" one girl asks.
"You're looking at her," Queenie says, as we zoom in on Cordelia's smiling face.
