When Coulson signs a form hold by a police man in the Stockholm subway he is supposed to say "thank you" in Swedish. However, the vowel sound is slightly too long so the word comes closer to the Swedish word for roof. See more »

Skye: I called with an equally pressing question for you, my S.O... What are we supposed to do if we have to pee?
Grant Ward: [unamused] You broke protocol because you needed a bathroom break.
Skye: It was a really, really long drive and everyone's nervous.
Grant Ward: [sighs] There's a container at the bottom of the blue chest.
Skye: [to Simmons] Bottom of the blue chest.
[Simmons and goes digging and pulls out an empty water bottle. She gives Skye a look]

B'Elanna Torres graduates form Voyager to S H I E L D.
17 October 2013 | by See all my reviews

And she was excellent, this is the best-directed episode of Agents of SHIELD yet. Roxann Dawson, aka "B'Elanna Torres" in Star Trek Voyager, started out as a Half-Klingon with lousy Forehead Makeup but she is now a halfway decent Director.

This is the way this show should go, from an army of Red-faced "Anonymous" to a Chick who really does have X-Ray Spex.

Each time something is revealed in this episode, another new conundrum flops out, and it keeps happening to the very last instant here.

A very subdued looking Pascale Armand is "Akela Amador" - A former Shield Op and progeny of "AC" (Skye's new name for Agent Coulson), one who had vanished.

May and Ward want to get all religious and kill her off, but Coulson is offering Second Chances today. So when they track Akela down, they find a new Question: If she is bad, why is she helping a Russian Woman get rid of a Tumour? And why not just kill off Skye and the Fitz-Twins instead of just upending their Van?

And while this Upending is happening, they discover a Video Signal that apparently is coming right toward them, showing the inside of the Van.

And it was in Akela's Eye. So the conundrum is, why can they tap in to Akela's Eye, and why does Alela have an X Ray machine built in?

May goes off grid and finds Akela, and more pieces fall into place, it is not what Akela is doing, but that she is being forced to do it.

But where does the string start? The Fitz-Twins rig up a fake-out for whoever is watching Akela, which Ward has to wear, and he carefully does not reveal his own Body Parts for whoever is watching, else they would have seen it is no longer a Black Woman but a White Man.

And to make it all the more interesting, there is a BOMB in Akela's Eye that her Handler can explode and make Brain-Flavoured Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches!

It is up to the Fitz-Twins to disconnect it, while Ward fakes the Handler out and gives Coulson an Opporknockity to find the FleaBagazoid who is doing this Cack.

But Not All is As It Seems- As Usual, Par for the Course, Ad Infinitum, and maybe Yawn, but not Yawn, cos this was all directed with Trek Precision by Roxann. So, great Job Roxann, Please direct MORE Eps of this! And she manages to get in one more "Coulson Clue": He is not acting the same way he used to act, Akela wonders what had been done to him, then changes the subject.

The X-Ray Spex Gag turns into something Skye can have some fun with, if Fitz don't chicken out all the time.
