I started watching Selena + Chef since the beginning and I absolutely love the entire series and spin-offs. It is a win for everyone and I hope she makes many more. I've been a fan of Selena all of my life as she is an inspiration and incredibly talented, humble, grateful, relatable, kind, open, passionate, intentional, and giving human being. I love growing up with her and learning life skills side by side and watching her see all that she's capable of. I love her heart. Witnessing all she's faced with and overcame is empowering. I especially appreciate her advocacy for mental health as well as physical health challenges (as well as autoimmune) as I also struggle with both. Seeing her push herself to have the energy to do all she does even with these debilitating conditions is remarkable. And sharing her journey candidly as well as making and inspiring changes she wishes to see is making the world better. With this show she motivates us who don't know how to cook, and shows us that it is possible to make extraordinary delicious meals. This show also gives us a rare opportunity to learn incredible recipes and instruction from some of the most renowned chefs, a gift for those who know how to cook as well. This style of show is perfect and the evolution of her cooking skills gives me confidence that I can follow along and keep up myself. I will be rewatching over and over. I love the tips and tricks from the chefs as well as the mistakes and accomplishments of Selena. It's all a learning experience. The chefs are so welcoming and genuine and it's awesome to hear their stories and background and is immensely inspiring as well. I love seeing her interact with her family and friends as well as the chefs. It's very heartwarming. Seeing her grandpa tear up with pride for Selena this season after seeing her growth was beautiful. The donations to charities of the chefs choice that we also get introduced to is the very best thing. This show is doing so many good things for people around the world! Giving to so many who need it and inspiring future professional chefs as well as home cooks and showing them a path to self sufficiency and sharing with others. It brings people together. Also sharing the cuisines, traditions and cultures of many. The show is very comforting, fun, and easy to watch even in the background, it's very entertaining! Much love to Selena, the Chefs, her friends and family, their friends and family the Charities and everyone involved. I also got restaurant recommendations as well as recipes from this season that I also have to try. Even if you don't know of Selena or aren't a big fan, this show will be very beneficial. I also have to shoutout Raquel for supporting, encouraging and just being lighthearted and having fun with Selena and putting her at ease. It's so helpful to have a friendly face around when stepping into something new, challenging, and potentially stressful. She's her reminder that this is for her enjoyment and not to be too hard on herself as well as offering them a helping hand which is needed for timing sometimes. As someone said in a comment she is the yin to her yang. I would love to continue seeing people she's close with on the show. I love all of these versions of the show and putting her in different environments. I will support any future version even if they just rotate. I would love some episodes with chefs from around the world, more restaurants, and different holiday foods. Thank you for this show, it is a blessing!
I enjoy watching Selena learn and allowing chefs to have their spotlight on TV. The charity is a bonus plus, it's definitely a positive impact. Selena comes off as a clumsy, distraught, but funny beginner chef. She try's her best which I understand having her BFF with her would ease her. Unfortunately, I feel like Raquell causes chaos by disrupting the food process and causing Selena to mess up measurements or food. 9/10 just because I feel like the show would be better off if it was just Selena and Star Chef together. I don't want to watch Rachel most of the episodes. I would love to learn more about the star chefs the show is representing. Overall! Such an inspiring show I love watching all of Selena's cooking series!
As someone that enjoyed the original series, I looked forward to watching this new one. It was really fun to watch Selena go and visit, different restaurants and meeting new chefs Learning new recipes. I always appreciate how Selena is so innocent and anxious to learn while being cute and ditzy in a funny way. The only thing I would change is Raquel. I'm not sure why they continue to bring her on because she's always a distraction and never pays attention and is constantly on her phone. She has no value to the TV show actually is irritating to watch. Aside from that, I really look forward to more of these shows, but hoping that the producers can finally get rid of the distracting side pieces of her friends.
My wife and I love the Selena + Chef shows, and now the Selena + Restaurant shows. Selena is such a genuine person, and the chefs all are so fun to learn from and watch. The only part that bugs me about these shows is her friend Raquelle. Is it just me, or does she not seem to be the greatest of friends? I question why she's even there... She seems selfish, she's rarely helpful, either on her phone, not paying attention, etc. I could do without her. But both Selena and the chefs more than makes up for her being on the show, so I'll still give this show a 10 out of 10. And apparently I can't submit my review until I add enough characters, so that's why this last sentence is here.
