Towards the end of the movie at the platform while the last train prepares to depart, you can clearly hear the voice over the PA say "Planet evacuation in progress", while we know for a fact that the survivors are heading to an underground base to regroup and reclaim their homes, having no intention to leave the planet. Cut the whining annoying kids and have a slightly bigger budget and this would have been pretty good
