There seemed to be quite a lot of praise for this. I do think it's a witty little film, the filmmakers very much aware of the kind of emotional journey that its female character would have to endure and have to go through. Saying that, however, it also doesn't seem to have too much that kind of separates it from so many other films of its kind. To its credit, the lead actress is quite the fit for the role. It's very difficult to have a role of this type work so well, especially for a young actress. It must not have been so easy to really fit the balance in tone that the dramatic and comedic aspects of the screenplay require, but the lead really does a wonderful job. I'm a little surprised she has not gained more traction with awards at this time of the year. I don't think it's an entirely memorable film, but definitely a good one and a worthwhile one.
