Trivia

Star Drunk is the sequel to the viral short film 'Cleverbot: Do You Love Me.' Star Drunk is an experiment in writing a short film while drunk; several writers from Portland got together one night to write the script. They promised each other that whatever they wrote that night, they'd produce as a short film. They ended up creating a Star Trek-Star Wars-Battlestar Galactica'esque parody with laser gun fights and space battles. Taking the concept a step further (and stranger), thay asked the cast to be drunk on the night of filming See more »

Another viral smash hit for Wilson!

'STAR DRUNK': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

Chris R. Wilson (director and co-director of the short films 'JAMES VS. REALITY', 'THRONG', 'PILLOW FIGHT' and ''DO YOU LOVE ME', A FILM BY CLEVERBOT') co-directed (with actor/filmmaker Zach Persson) and co-wrote this short about a drunk space crew. It's a spoof on popular sci-fi shows and movies like 'STAR WARS', 'STAR TREK' and 'BATTLESTAR GALACTICA' and it's described (by Wilson) as a sequel to the viral hit 'DO YOU LOVE ME'. It was written by Wilson and Persson along with Jacqueline Gault, Tim Feeney, Roman Battan and Josh Persson and stars Greg James, Adam Elliot Davis, Kyle Smith, Britt Harris, Alexander Fraser and Bethany Jacobs. Once again it's a fun and visually stunning Wilson masterpiece!

The short is another experimental film (like it's predecessor). This one was based on the concept of getting a bunch of writers together one night and promising to film whatever they came up with while drunk. They then asked all their actors to be drunk the night they filmed it as well. The result is a pretty funny film but (as with all of Wilson's movies) I'm more blown away by the production values and visual effects (by Wilson and Persson as well).

A lot of YouTube viewers have questioned whether the actors we're really drunk while filming (because it seems more like they're sober and just acting drunk) but Wilson and his girlfriend Hollie Olson (who produced the film and says she was the only one sober the entire time they were filming) swear they were. I guess they're just that talented of actors, James is especially memorable as the captain of the ship. He seems like one of those great character actors (with exaggerated facial expressions) that can make any role memorable. There's also a behind the scenes video (available on YouTube as well) that shows all of the actors obviously drunk while filming. At any rate the movie is fantastic and it's another viral smash hit for Wilson. The guy is going to be huge star soon!
