Alicia and Cary represent represent Neil Gross who wants to fight a gag order he's received from the NSA stopping him from explaining to his Chum Hum clients what information he was forced to provide the government. What no one knows is that the NSA is snooping on Diane and Alicia' calls because they once defended Danny Marwatt, an Arab-American translator who was accused of collaborating with the Taliban. Meanwhile, Diane's nomination for the State Supreme Court is in jeopardy as the Chief Justice is insisting she publicly distance herself from Will Gardner's past activities.
