Did You Know?

Wolfgang Glück wrote a German language screenplay titled "Die schlafenden Hunde - die fast wahre Geschichte des Leo Reuss" with the creative collaboration of his friend Billy Wilder. The film tells the story of a theatre scandal around Austrian stage-actor Leo Reuss, aka Lionel Royce, during the mid 1930s. Producer Saul Zaentz wanted to do the movie but Glück then refused, declaring that "shooting the movie in the English language would not do justice to the main character." See more »
