The nice big brother

Finally, an episode to get it back on the right track. Skye finally made an impression on me, it was great seeing Coulson in action and it included a very possible recurring villain.

First let's start with Skye. I really wasn't a fan of her at all in the first two episodes. However, now that she actually seems dedicated to joining Shield, she actually is opening up and allowing me to like her more as she is more than just the tag along rookie, as she said in episode two.

Ward opening up to Skye is also good development as well. His background with his family can be a great avenue to venture down to get a handle on who his character and motivations.

Getting Coulson back out in the field was cool too. Seeing that he is rusty from Tahiti is appropriate and his chat with Hall was powerful as well as they were talking about how dangerous certain things in this world are. The decision Coulson made at the end to stop Dr Hall was shocking too as I saw that Coulson knows that saving the day doesn't mean saving everyone.

Quinn was interesting as a villain. Being a rich, smug genius puts him in some nice company but the fact that his morals aren't really there and the fact that he will go against Shield is good too. His resources can affect what is going to happen to them in the season and hopefully it will get better than this episode.

What bothered me about this show so far is that they keep namedropping and referencing the MCU. I understand that you are in this universe and it is perfectly fine making these references just not every other minute.

+ Skye is getting better + Coulson in action + Quinn could be dangerous - Too. Many. MCU. References
