Storyline

Filmmaker Ben Stassen and cinematographer Sean MacLeod Phillips return to southern Africa for a whole new adventure. Animal behaviorist Kevin Richardson - "The Lion Whisperer" - guides audiences on an extraordinary journey across the most spectacular sceneries on earth: from the picturesque coastal desert dunes of Namibia, through the natural wonder of the Ngorongoro crater and then on to the breathtaking Victoria Falls. The film delivers startlingly close encounters with lions, cheetahs, leopards, black rhinoceros and elephants. This is the trek of a lifetime, so get ready to be immersed in the real wild Africa - where there are no fences for your protection. Written by Ibrahim Marwat

Lovely view of Africa from the air and close proximity
27 March 2019 | by robertemeraldSee all my reviews

This isn't in any way as stupendous as David Attenborough, though the camera work and cameras used are still good quality. You get to see plenty of all the major big name animals of Africa, though nothing you won't have especially seen before one way or another. That's not to say there are not surprises. You will be left wondering how they got such amazing close-ups of lions and other big cats as they wander. This is excellent viewing for kids who want to learn about African wildlife, and also for people interested in conservation issues in Africa at present. If ever there is an African Safari 2 I'll certainly be happy to watch it.
