It feels like she's 17 again

Warning: Spoilers
Well, she is, 16 actually. This comedy movie with some dramatic subplot action runs as most German television movies do for under 90 minutes, but can rarely really deliver. Florian Fitz is maybe the most known from the cast and I hope films like this are not the end of the line for Maria-Victoria Dragus after the talent she showed us in "Das weiße Band" and other projects. Good news is that Sophie Schütt, even if she plays the main character is not even for a third of the movie in here. I don't think much of her as an actress. Anna Hausburg (who already has a respectable body of work for her age) plays Schütt's rejuvenated character for the rest of the time. The films director and writing duo are not new to the business, but not as experienced as some others either.

One weakness of this film was the lack of subtlety, all the talk about her "real self" was just so much in your face, how she comforts the struggling daughter (Dragus) posing as her best friend or how she acts towards her husband as if she was the mother without him knowing. Also I am not entirely sure what to think of the husband kissing the young girl. The resemblance in terms of looks, behavior etc. explains it a bit, but still not sufficiently, especially as he says he is pretty angry at his wife for disappearing like that and than going for a student who resembles her a lot? Nah. Also, if I picture myself being 15 years younger all of a sudden, I would totally freak the hell out and tell everybody regardless of what they believe or not. I would not join my partner's theater workgroup. That much is safe. Oh yeah, and the ending was pretty kitsch again as you'd expect if you have seen other Schütt movies. Not recommended.
