Storyline

Barry Allen is a Central City police forensic scientist with a reasonably happy life, despite the childhood trauma of a mysterious red and yellow lightning killing his mother and framing his father. All that changes when a massive particle accelerator accident leads to Barry being struck by lightning in his lab. Coming out of coma nine months later, Barry and his new friends at S.T.A.R labs find that he now has the ability to move at superhuman speed. Furthermore, Barry learns that he is but one of many affected by that event, most of whom are using their powers for evil. Determined to make a difference, Barry dedicates his life to fighting such threats, as The Flash. While he gains allies he never expected, there are also secret forces determined to aid and manipulate him for their own agenda. Written by Kenneth Chisholm (kchishol@rogers.com)

Trivia

John Wesley Shipp plays Henry Allen, wrongfully convicted and sent to prison for the death of Nora Allen, who was actually murdered by The Reverse-Flash. Shipp voiced Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash in Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster! (2010) See more »

Goofs

Whenever Barry uses his super speed from a standing start, there is a gust of wind that blows in the opposite direction (for instance, if he superspeeds to the left, there is an airburst that blows to the right). Engaging his super speed in this manner would cause a suction effect creating an airburst in the same direction he's moving in. See more »

Make the show about The Flash again!
22 May 2020 | by RobScott-13See all my reviews

The Flash is one of the better superhero shows but it's starting to go down considering The Flash is barely in it anymore! The show is more focused on Iris which is a huge mistake! Ever since they put her as pretty much the lead since Crisis, every episode has been the lowest rated in series history! Go back to making this show about The Flash bc when you did it was still entertaining! I absolutely don't mind women as leads in action shows but the CW is getting ridiculous. This is even coming from a liberal who's all about equality but EVERY show now has a woman as it's lead now (Supergirl, Catwoman, Stargirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Green Arrow & The Canaries, and now even The Flash and Black Lightening are all about girl power)! Every woman is portrayed as smart & tough while the men are stupid & weak! Most of them like Laurel Lance & Catwoman look so ridiculous in their fight scenes. It doesn't look like their kicks would hurt a 3-year old but a grown man goes flying or knocked out from a hit that again, wouldn't hurt a child!
