When an American home improvement TV show visits a remote Eastern European village, the young crew thinks the lack of mocha lattés and free wifi will be the worst of their problems. But after their filming interrupts the superstitious villagers' private religious ritual, the situation takes a turn for the homicidal... and when the blood starts flowing, that's when things get really weird. With THEY'RE WATCHING, noted graphic novelists and animators Micah Wright and Jay Lender turn a classic horror premise upside down to create a fresh, funny, eye-popping twist on the genre.

SPOILER:At the end of the movie,it is found that Becky's boyfriend Goran Potsnik has been murdered some time ago, because his truck is hidden in the barn and covered in dust, giving us the idea that Becky killed him not long after she bought the house, which was 6 months before. In the movie Goran Potsnik is a professional soccer (football) player and a European one at that, pretty much making him a famous or well known person in Europe. Which makes it hard to believe that no one would have noticed he was missing and reported it. If a professional athlete was not heard from or seen in several months it would be all over the news. But in the movie, no one has noticed. See more »
I liked the trailer of the movie (which reminded me a little bit of Borat's misadventures in Kazakhstan), and decided to give it a chance. If you like a comedy horror with smart jokes and not just mindless killing, you will LOVE this movie. The script is cleverly written, with a funny story, that gave me so many laughs. Actors are unknown to me, but they did an amazing job portraying their characters. Even the "villagers" looked credible in their roles. The movie was shoot in Moldova so you will be able to see some authentic Eastern European scenery. Don't take the movie too seriously and you will have a great time watching it. I give it a well-deserved 9 star rating.
