Late night browsing through YouTube can so often be a fruitless exercise, but every so often you come across something that sticks with you. For me, this was Todd the Zombie. At first it looks simple, and I guess it is, but that's what makes it so perfect. It's simplicity grabs you. Growing up through the 80's I noticed "Todd" for it's design, it struck my attention because of it's old isometric 3D look and it reminded me of so many games that I used to play as a kid. I watch the original pilot episode that was only a couple of minutes long, and that was it, I was hooked. Now this "pilot" did have much to it put along with the look and the quick wit I had to know what came next. Luckily this episode was followed by a series of 5 more 15-20 minute long episodes that had the same dry wit and excellent parodying. There are so many games/TV shows & movies that are referenced in each episode that sometimes it's difficult to place them (put that's what multiple watch throughs are for eh?). The writing is brilliant, they even reference things that I had long forgotten but now I remember and look back on fondly. Th acting is great and all the cast work so well together. Love the Pete voice especially, so creepy and Vincent Price-esque. Overall, "Todd" has a lot going for it and I look forward to many more episode in the future. This series should seriously make it big, it's far better than a lot of the mainstream stuff that's out there now.
