I am a huge fan of Mark Duplass who portrays Brett Pierson in this show so "Togetherness" was an awesome way to observe his extraordinary talents in action. Mark along side Melanie Lynskey who plays Michelle Pierson, portray a married couple. The relationship between the two on screen is remarkably unremarkable. It explores the things we never tell our friends or tell our significant others, how we get through our days and nights being with only one person. The sometimes torturous routines of sex, raising kids, work, friends and family. The negative ruts we find ourselves in which to some of us seem overwhelmingly mundane and depressing. The other end of the scale is that sometimes we just need to realize how good we have it. I see a lot of "real life" in every episode and perhaps the subtlety of this story is the only thing that may deter a viewer. The relationships between the main characters are not perfect and the story lines are somewhat complex issues of the heart and soul of the proverbial "normal" human being. I think this is well written and well cast. "Togetherness" might not be for everyone but it hits the spot with me.
