Storyline
Plot Summary |
This film is a short narrative fiction about two college students who get involved with a set of stones, which are a metaphor for, or a form of drugs, after being told that they have no chance at winning an Ultimate Frisbee championship without some kind of artificial assistance. The side effects of the stones lead them down a dark path of hallucination and addiction that ends poorly. In this I hoped to portray college drug use from the perspective of the youth, a student who has no idea what they're doing, and to show how easy it is to be dragged into the darker parts of life by one bad influence. Trivia | This script began as a short narrative fantasy about stones that bestow magical powers, but the story began to adapt as soon as it had been written. The idea that the powers had negative side effects was quickly introduced, and the drug parallel that is now a main element of the film was added after that. The final piece of the puzzle was the introduction of the sports relationships, which showed that the characters had a good life to lose, and yet a reason to be enticed by the powers the stones would give them.
