Yahoo launches slate of original comedy series from John Stamos, Jack Black and more: Not all are winners

In the ever-evolving world of television, the latest frontier for original programming has become the Internet. With Netflix's great success in launching hits like "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black," more and more websites are following suit. The latest to launch their slate of original series? Yahoo.

On Monday (Sept. 9), Yahoo launched its most aggressive slate of original programming to date with the premieres of five new comedy series from some big talent. Following Netflix's lead, all episodes of new series "Losing It with John Stamos," "Ghost Ghirls," "The Fuzz," "We Need Help" and "Tiny Commando" were made available on Yahoo! Screen. But the big question is: Are any of them worth watching?

Of the five newbies, "Losing It with John Stamos" stands out of the pack. A charming interview-based show featuring John Stamos talking one-on-one with a celebrity about how they lost their virginity, interspersed with

Puppet Cops, Tiny Commandos, Sex Stories Now Playing On Yahoo Screen

Ghost Ghirls may be the most exciting (and, from what I've seen, the funniest) of Yahoo's fall comedy debuts, but the four other series that launched alongside it on September 9th deserve mention as well. Tiny Commando, The Fuzz, We Need Help, and Losing It With John Stamos all have their moments, and thanks to a concurrent app launch from Yahoo Screen, they're all available on a wide variety of devices. Thanks to high-profile stars Zachary Levi, Ed Helms, and Gillian Jacobs, Tiny Commando is just as buzzworthy as Ghost Ghirls. In reality, the fun-sized action-comedy is...well, it's unusual. Its ridiculous premise (where Levi plays a four-inch tall badass) takes some getting used to, but the first episode shows off some inventive uses of household objects (and features a great cameo from Chris Hardwick, who plays a nerdy action figure nerd who falls for the Commando's ruse). Tiny Commando,

Yahoo Sets September 9th As Fall Comedy Premiere Date, Offers Trailers

Nearly fourth months after it revealed a star-studded lineup of original comedy programs, Yahoo is set to bring its new slate into the fore. The #7 online video platform (according to the latest Comscore report) has set September 9th as the release date for its fall comedies, and it has offered up a slew of trailers to preview its new shows. The most welcome trailer comes from Ghost Ghirls. The supernatural comedy, produced by Jack Black's Electric Dynamite studio, has been building hype since December, and it is the best contender to follow up the success of Yahoo's Streamy-winning smash hit, Burning Love. The new trailer looks great and reaffirms that assertion. Beyond Ghost Ghirls, the public got its first real look at a few other intriguing comedies. The best cast among the upcoming debuts belongs to Tiny Commando, Ed Helms' tribute to the G.I. Joe-fueled war fantasies of his youth.
