So where did all of the naive charm go...?

Iron Sky was a crazy little movie just daft enough to work in a thoroughly bonkers way. It had charm in truck loads and what they managed to do on a miniscule budget was extraordinary. The sequel has ten times the budget but just a fraction of the inspiration and the child-like wonder of it's predecessor. You find yourself watching just to see how much worse it can get...and it gets a lot worse as it limps along, I can tell you. I'm being generous with my 4/10 purely for the Dark Star homage right at the end with the credits song being a direct rip of Benson, Arizona, the tune that plays out over the credits of John Carpenter's low budget classic. Nice touch, I wonder if they were hoping that a little of that movie's genius would somehow leak over to their movie...
