Trivia

Season 2 is more of a reboot than a continuation of the story. With it the show moves to prime-time Sunday for first-run airings with subsequent Animation Domination High Definition (ADHD) airings including second-season repeats. The characters of Golan and Dylan have new voices, their artwork is changed (Dylan's eye makeup tapers into spikes instead of ending with teardrop-like ends and Golan wears more substatial clothing than his previous G-string and adds black ankle bands), the cause of Golan's entry to Dylan's world is changed, and the character of Richard, Dylan's podcasting father, is eliminated. A charmingly dark romp that manages to entertain from beginning to end.
19 February 2015 | by PatrickreaganSee all my reviews

At first glance Golan the insatiable looks like the sort of show filled with profanity and cheap humor. As a result I was reluctant to give it a try, however i am certainly glad I did. The structure of the show itself is pretty simple, it follows the misadventures of Golan, a brutal god- lord and dark ruler from another realm, and his best friend/ squire of sorts, Dylan, a 9 year old goth girl. Though Golan may be an evil dark lord, he is primarily concerned with his young companion and the dynamic between the two of them is really quite charming. Though the show contains its fair share of crude humor, the show itself is actually pretty smart. Situational Irony combined with both dark humor and subtle plot themes make the show really quite amusing. The most impressive aspect of this show is how it manages to be both dark and silly. Going in with an open mind, this is a show that most anybody would enjoy.
