All Allyson and her friends want is a peaceful, grown-up evening of dinner and fun - a long-needed moms' night out. But in order to enjoy high heels, adult conversation, and food not served in a bag, they need their husbands to watch the kids for a few hours ... what could go wrong? Written by Anonymous
I thought this movie was alright overall.
Things I liked: - Christian message was nice & not painfully in-your-face or eyeroll-inducing (I'm a Christian but find this is often a flaw in Christian movies) - Many of the jokes were pretty good - Several of the characters were rather likable - Managed to stay away from most Christian stereotypes that annoy me (for example, like Shirley from Community or that chick from The Mist)
The downsides: - It got cheesy toward the end. I managed to refrain from rolling my eyes for most of the movie, but the last few scenes broke that. - A bit too traditional in gender roles for my liking, but I could live with it. - WAAAAY over the top with the whole "hysterical mom" stereotype. This was the main thing in the movie that got on my nerves & took my opinion of it down a notch or 2.
So yeah, it's not a bad movie, and I got a few good laughs out of it. I'd say if someone else was dying to watch it, I'd watch it with them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
