The Scarehouse was shot inside an actual working funhouse called "Scarehouse Windsor" in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The haunted attraction is operated by Shawn Lippert, who became the film's production designer, lending his funhouse expertise to the film.
Jennifer Miller, who plays Lisa Jenner, was not originally cast in the role. Due to a scheduling conflict, the original actor had to drop out. Jennifer traveled by train from Montreal to Windsor, only reading the script on the train for the first time. She began filming the moment she arrived in order to avoid having the production fall behind schedule.
They were forced to film at night because during the day the construction site right next door to their location was making too much noise.
