At first I thought, okay another standard thriller movie. However I am totally wow'ed by it all, starting with Blithe's performance, with Estelle Long and Ryan Enever's. They all really showcased their acting abilities here. The cast all wonderfully selected for their role, and every cast member delivered so well.
As for the story and dialogue, don't expect a conventional movie. This is meant to be bizarre in many ways but it's all done so well from beginning to end.
To the movie buffs out there, you need to see this. I don't expect others to appreciate the artistic way of this, but even for the general movie lovers this movie is good.

If you're a fan of Nigel Neale and his Quatermass creation, then this is for you. There are no space monsters in this but it gives you the feel of the dystopian atmosphere from Quatermass II where no one trusts anyone and there are conspiracies in the air.
This film is very well paced and takes you from scene to scene without losing interest. I am particularly taken with the sound design in this, which I feel is an important part of any picture and gets overlooked a lot of the time. Not here. It is the beating heart of the film.
A lot of praise must go to the whole team, but particularly to Andy Blithe who owns the whole production from start to finish, as star, writer and editor.

"Buying Time" is an exciting independent action thriller with a modern crime story, great characters, good dialogue, good camera work, great art direction, great music and excellent editing. The actors almost always play first class.
"Buying Time" always keeps you on your toes and has already won some awards at various international film festivals such as for "Best Feature Film".
The movie is extremely good for its low budget! Due to the budget there are some technical weaknesses, but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment. Unfortunately, it's also a bit short because of that. Nonetheless it is a worthwhile film to behold. Well done Aturn Films and TV Bandits.

This film is basically like if Scorsese was even more of a maniac when directing goodfellas and came up with a concept that only made sense in his head but he being the genius he is managed to put it on the screen.
I cannot believe that this movie exists and that NOBODY has heard of it yet. I must be a hipster because I know this will be big one day and I'll get to gloat that I saw it before all those fakers!
The actors, brilliant, they sound very natural all the time and manage to create very hard hitting emotional scenarios. The camera is brilliant it feels like it was done by a documentary crew as if this crime was real. Andy Blithe is just that much of a civic genius.

The movie "Buying Time" is excellent. It's far superior to the majority of what's currently available on Netflix. The film was meant to be good, as it was directed by Kris Smith and written by Andy Blithe. Those two guys have got their films screened at a number of film festivals despite their modest budget films. As a result, success was certain, and it was most likely sure to happen.
Every scene is merely a preparation for getting from one location to the next, thus the audience will not quickly become bored or confused, but instead focus on the action rather than the low budget. Kudos to the writer for that. The action is usually funny, with excellent choreography and tense clashes, which are exhibited with zeal when the fearsome protagonist (played by Blithe) kicks down the bad guys.
Blithe and Smith's "Buying Time" mostly succeeds in being inadvertently hilarious, which adds an unexpected layer of entertainment value that the filmmakers couldn't have anticipated when they intended to make an action picture, but it should be available on Netflix.
