First off I'm argentinian, so this may be a little biased. You have been warned.
When I started watching this series I thought it would be the typical missing girl movie/series. I don't wanna spoil anything, but let's just say it's not what it may seem at first look...in a good way. You think you know what's happening and then it takes some very unexpected turns.
The story is ultimately not "shocking", but I think that's something good, it ads to its overall credibility.
Acting is decent. Dialogues are reasonably good and credible (as a lawyer I found some police lines kinda dumb, but that's unavoidable in a work of fiction) music is ok, photography is good.
I would recommend this. It's not one of the best series out there, but it's well above average, especially for Netflix standards.

For the people like me who love Spanish thrillers don't listen to the bad reviews!
I don't dissect a film into smithereens, I just go by the emotions and feelings I get out of it.
The acting was excellent, I see no problem with any of the actors , the main character actually reminded me of Ann Bancroft lol, even the same mannerism, RIP Anne.
The landscapes were beautifully filmed.
The plot started out with you thinking , oh I know what's going on, but step by step unravelled. Every time you thought you knew the ending , nope, there comes another twist. I like this kind of narrative very much I guess that's why I gave this film 8 stars.
I can completely and without hesitation recommend this series!

I was pretty intrigued after episode 1. The plot was solid with a lot of different ways the story could go and plenty of characters to keep you guessing. After that first episode however the execution was unfortunately pretty awful.
I kept having to remind myself that the main character was a journalist and not a cop because the amount of access this woman gets as events unfold in active investigations is that of only those actually investigating the crimes. That aspect alone was frustrating because the show is so focused on the main character. She is increasingly frustrating to watch as the show continues, making very cliche poor decisions. The conclusion is unpredictable, so it gets points for that, although admittedly by the end I was just finishing the show for the sake of finishing it.

Investigative journalist Ema Garay is relentless in trying to discover what happened to seventeen year old Martina, an enquiry that leads to some shocking revelations and places her in mortal danger.
It's a good watch, if you're used to The British adaptations of Harlen Coben's books, it will feel very different, not just because of the language or location, it just feels different, maybe a little darker or grittier.
It's a book I read some time ago and all but forgotten, it deals with some pretty grim subjects, some now considered slightly taboo, possibly too controversial to warrant a British production.
Mystery and intrigue all the way, just when you think you know what's going on, you're thrown a curve ball, they definitely make you wait.
I've read some criticism about the central character Ema, but I liked her, sure she's flawed, but that's human nature, she is one dogged journalist, I thought Soledad Villamil was excellent.
It looks really good and I love the setting, Argentina looks so cool, the visuals are strong the whole way through, a real feature.
7/10.

Beautiful landscapes, great cinematography, and strong performances make this series engaging. It's always a pleasure to see Soledad Villamil, and alongside Alberto Ammann, the series boasts a truly great cast. Ammann remains an underrated talent despite his standout role in *Narcos*, he still hasn't gotten the recognition he deserves.
Such a gifted actor!
The story is compelling and keeps you hooked.
However, the naivety of the main character is hard to believe...unless, sadly, this is how many journalists operate today, disregarding consequences.
Overall, it's an interesting series, and for lovers of Argentinian culture, it's an even more appealing watch.

Don't pay too much attention to the negative comments directed at the main protagonist. In fact, the character's impulsive and misguided decisions are essential to the narrative. They're not flaws in the writing - they're the very foundation of the show's message. These choices drive the plot forward and force the viewer to reflect on the consequences of acting without thinking, of rushing into things with blind conviction. It's through her errors that the story gains emotional depth and tension, ultimately delivering a powerful moral. There's a lot to take away from this show in terms of personal growth, accountability, and the complexity of human behavior.
Aside from those criticisms I've seen, Caught is a visually stunning production. The performances are solid across the board, with the actors bringing a raw authenticity to their roles. The cinematography is beautiful - every shot feels carefully composed, and the natural landscapes are not only scenic but also contribute to the atmosphere of the series. The music, for the most part, complements the mood and tone of the scenes perfectly, adding emotional weight where needed (though I did find one particular scene a bit cliché in its musical choice, but that's a small detail in an otherwise well-curated score).
Overall, Caught is much more than just a mystery or drama - it's a layered exploration of consequences, ethics, and the fine line between truth and manipulation. It may be uncomfortable to watch at times, but that's exactly what makes it worthwhile.

The story does not have the pace of a big city, so, unlike other Harlan Coben's adaptations, the pace is not that fast.
However, they made a great job adapting it, with serious topics without gore and insinuated sex not despicted. The images of the crimes are few and not morbid.
There are many twists along the episodes. The beauty standards are real beautiful people that don't match the media clone ones, and the performances are pretty good.
A lot of new young actors and actresses appear on it and the actress who plays the main victim, a surprise.
The topics are on the news everyday: grooming, underage girls selling sexual photos and video material online, lack of communication between adults and teens, and betrayal. But the story in centered on a journalist investigation of the cases, not the families.
The scenery is gorgeous!!!
You won't regret watching it, but if you like fast paced shows instead of getting the character's feelings, it's not for you.

What a disappointment! I don't understand how anyone can give this series 7 stars.
The theme is incredibly important and strong, one of those I like, but it quickly turns into a confusing kind of soap opera with a terrible main character. I'm talking about Ema Garay, the journalist.
She leaps to conclusions far too quickly and makes terrible choices. She doesn't seem to worry about the consequences. The subject needs a stronger character, no doubt. And the issue is that pretty fast I had already stopped caring. A protagonist should inspire you to cheer for them. Especially because of the important topic.
As if that's not enough, the storytelling is frustrating and badly edited. It keeps flipping back and forth between past and present, and not in a good way. Rather than enhancing the mystery, it just bogs things down. At times, I didn't care anymore and I was more exhauted than excited to see more.
Not even the performances do much to hold you. If you're a big fan of Harlan Coben's work, you may want to skip this one. Don't expect anything fabulous or exciting.
If you're just seeking for a solid mystery thriller, I will not send you here; best to find something else.
This is another weak Harlan Coben adaptation, and a real bad one.

Good performance by the actors, amazing scenery, and a very well-chosen soundtrack that perfectly complements the overall mood of the show. The casting is spot-on, with each actor delivering a believable and emotionally engaging performance. The visuals are stunning, with breathtaking landscapes and cinematography that truly immerses you in the story. The soundtrack enhances every moment, from the quiet emotional scenes to the intense climaxes. And just when you think you've figured it all out, the twist in the story hits you unexpectedly-in the best possible way. A truly captivating experience. 10/10, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a well-crafted, emotionally engaging show with depth and surprises.

And it helps if you have some Spanish knowledge. I always watch in the original language with English subs, well the subs this time are so slow. Love Harlan, Polish, Spanish, British he rules and this is one of the best. The actors are great, the conversations are fast and funny and interesting and the plot thrilling! Oh did I mention I am Swedish so my Spanish is from an educational system invented in the 1980ies🙀 But I managed to follow and this is such a great little gem in the Coben series Netflix has done. Then also watching something so wonderful as Argentina is an extra plus. Give it a try!
I'll give it a couple of points because Argentina does look quite pretty. I usually give extra points for things like settings and costumes, et cetera those might be the only points it gets.
I haven't read any Harlen Coben in a long time but I used to love his books because he was able to put in a plausible twist at the end which made sense and wasn't a lame cop out. The books were logical and coherent with characters of enough depth that there could be a backstory somewhere to make them a killer. As someone who almost always can guess who done it, it's a refreshing change to have a mystery I can't guess.
This was absolutely stupid. Discount all of the normally stupid stuff which could potentially happen when making a film. It is better than that. But instead they have the main character do something so absolutely incredibly stupid which is a repeat of something incredibly stupid she did before, with very bad consequences. I do so badly want to say what it was, because we are SO ANNOYED at wading through 7 episodes (not the most entertaining series) for this absolutely most implausible & moronic event with only the last episode left.
Unless that plot twist happens, my husband guessed correctly, but no matter who did it, this scene was just idiotic.
I think these reviews are not editable, so I will have to leave you with the visual of my husband saying, "we are not going to watch that last episode now because I am so angry at how utterly ridiculous that was, " standing up, leaving the room. I saw him through the patio doors with garden utensils in hand. He hates gardening & rarely does it. So that is saying something.
End result, there was a twist ending that neither of us predicted. It was plausible, but still stupid. It makes Argentinian women look pretty stupid and/or thoughtless impulsive, tbh. I don't think they are, so either Coben or the movie misjudged.
I'll be interested if anyone says the book is any different or if maybe people don't feel it's as stupid as we do.

One of the best series I've seen in years, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Only six episodes, which left me intrigued all the time until the end. Hope it gets a chance to compete in international awards, with a great performance from the main actors. It probably helps if you understand Spanish, I'm not sure if you lose part of the meaning of some moments if you watch it with subtitles or dubbed. The main character is performed by an actress who also had a magnificent performance in "El secreto de sus ojos", which if I'm correct is an Oscar Nominated movie, if not the winner in the foreign category.

The script and idea were promising, with good potential to create a gripping story. However, the poor editing and very bad performances turned it into a confusing and slow series that failed to maintain engagement. The lack of pacing, awkward scene transitions, and uninspired acting made it frustrating to watch. What could have been a compelling thriller ended up feeling disjointed and tedious. The atmosphere and setting had promise, but the execution fell flat, making it difficult to connect with the story or characters. The dialogue felt unnatural, and the tension never fully developed, leaving a disappointing final result.

This showed promise at the beginning, but it required way too much suspension of disbelief. Were the police incompetent, or corrupt? An Investigative reporter given free rein to explore the crime scene? This is one series which could have used the usual Netflix Rainbow- United-Nations-Diversity Casting method. The early problem with this is that so many characters are introduced and they all look alike. It was hard to follow who was with whom? The women are all the same build, with long black hair, olive complexions and heavy eyebrows. With a couple exceptions, the men have short-cropped grey/salt and pepper hair with matching short cropped, gray/ salt and pepper beards. The teenage boys all look like Raj from the "Big Bang Theory." Until the finale- I couldn't tell Bruno from Armando from Gael. Maybe that was the point, since apparently everyone in town had something to do with the crimes- why not make them all look alike? A lost opportunity here. The final twist was obvious from the beginning- did the police investigate at all?
I guess this written by a guy who hates Journalists. It's not even possible to suspend disbelief enough to understand how the main character can be such an awful human being. I honestly don't know how people can watch such drivel. It's truly wretched. I guess there must be an audience of people who think journalists are hacks without two brain cells to rub together. I got about halfway through and had to turn it off, it's just too hard to watch.
Unfortunately they also want viewers who don't have two brain cells to rub together. I honestly don't see how this thing can average the score it averages. Netflix is a sea of awful originals, but this one still takes the cake.
