12 Strong tells the story of the first Special Forces team deployed to Afghanistan after 9/11; under the leadership of a new captain, the team must work with an Afghan warlord to take down the Taliban.
A young Russian intelligence officer is assigned to seduce a first-tour CIA agent who handles the CIA's most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. The two young officers collide in a charged atmosphere of trade-craft, deception, and inevitably forbidden passion that threatens not just their lives but the lives of others as well.
Dominika Egorova (Jennifer Lawrence)'s training ultimately leads her to CIA operative Nate Nash, portrayed in the film by Joel Edgerton. Source novelist Jason Matthews explained the unusual courtship between Nate and Dominika: "Inevitably, they fall in love, which is dangerous and forbidden for him. In the film, a US public servant delivers sensitive information on 3.5" floppy disks. It is extremely unlikely that a computer supplied by the US government to this servant would be able to transfer sensitive data to an external device - let alone a floppy drive. Additionally, there is the issue of capacity since a floppy disk only holds 1.44 MB of data (even with compression and using only text files - why not simply use an USB drive which can store GB of data).
Edited: In modern day (2018) police and military do still use floppy disk to store classify documents. Since its impossible to hack or clone a floppy without having the physical disk in hand. let alone they need a floppy drive to even read it. So its technically accurate they would go through the trouble and uses like 8 floppies for security. See more »
Violent, violent, violent film. It is superb. Jennifer Lawrence is slender yet has a super rack. She also sports a long hair cut here. Love it.
She is powerful, sexy and puts it to work.
Love the action and brutality. Sorry, it isn't a joke marvel film. If you want stupid wisecrack humor go watch Thor or something.
