I went into this show with low expectations, but after watching the first two episodes, I was completely blown away! The acting is top-notch-every character feels real, and the performances are incredibly engaging. The visual style is stunning, with cinematography that perfectly complements the tone of the show. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the aesthetics, from the color grading to the set design, making every scene feel immersive.
The script is another highlight-it's smart, well-paced, and filled with moments that keep you hooked. The dialogue feels natural, and the way the characters interact adds depth to the story. It's rare that I feel compelled to write a review, but this show impressed me so much that I had to share my thoughts. The way it builds tension and delivers surprises makes it incredibly addictive.
Overall, this is a fantastic start, and I can't wait to see more. If the first two episodes are any indication of what's to come, this series has the potential to be something truly special! Highly recommended.

What an exiting experience - the final farewell to Germanys questionable history of medical drama series
Stylish, cool and slightly heroin-chic - krank here we come. An updated general hospital in the German metropolis, only at the first glance. This remarkable formate ruthlessly exposes the daily craziness in Berlin's hospitals, run down by years of cost-cutting exercises and poor economic decisions by irresponsible politicians. It is quite a long way from the medical idealism of the oath of Hippocrates to the banal reality of hospital operations, which you cannot get through unscathed as a doctor or even as a nurse.
Krank takes us on that journey.

It would be a shame for people to pass up this very well produced well acted emergency room drama. It's often hard to watch because it's a challenge to watch humanity at its sickest. Whether treating patients or struggling with daily lives, healthcare professionals, deal with many comorbidities themselves.
The lead actress is worthy of note, as is the supporting cast. The show is gripping and extremely nuanced. I certainly hope it will be renewed, and that IMDb ratings will push up into the mid 7.5 range. It deserves it.
I'm not exactly sure how they are so aptly able to create the tense environment that can be a gritty, overrun, urban hospital, in a city with an underside that many simply can't relate to. But Berlin certainly seems like a city with many inner demons, screaming for a resolution.
I wouldn't skip this series if you are looking for something engaging. I always am and this has met my requirements.

I have to join Mountain Duke here, I haven't seen anything comparable yet. As a true Berliner, I must say that they have succeeded in transferring the vibe of this city in almost every facet to the basic idea of emergency medical care under the most difficult conditions.
No sleep, no money, no structure, the protagonists have nothing in life except their struggle for survival for themselves and others. At night, they consume themself - at least some - what the hospital's pharmacy has to offer. The human dramas manifest on the spot between the doctors and in the desperate struggle for the lives of the protégés.
The colors, the architecture, the fast cuts, the partially inserted handheld camera, all that screams: BERLIN!
Sometimes it is also reminiscent of "Beat", an equally outstanding German series. In any case, doctors were never more real on TV, more overwhelmed and more rotten, a fascinating ride and every minute so far a lot of fun!

"As a former Berliner, I can fully relate to the rough and gritty atmosphere-the show captures the city's raw essence perfectly. I can't imagine what it must feel like to serve in that Berlin hospital during a May Day shift, but the series makes it disturbingly real. I love the characters and can't wait to see more of them after the second episode. The mind-blowing soundtrack and impeccable sound mixing, combined with a marvelous cast, create a tension rarely seen on German TV."
Hospital Filming Location is: SEZ Berlin, Landsberger Allee, Berlin, Germany
Details: "The Sports and Recreation Center (SEZ) in Berlin-Friedrichshain, a massive sports and entertainment complex from the GDR era, was used as a filming location for KRANK Berlin. Opened in 1981, the SEZ was a prestigious state-funded project, known for its striking Brutalist architecture and its role as a social hub. The series utilizes the building's raw, decayed aesthetic to enhance its gritty, urban atmosphere, making it a fitting backdrop for the show's themes." (Part's are from German Wikipedia)

Wow! What a ride or should I say what a trip!?
I had high expectations after reading the reviews... ... and I loved every second of it. Haven't seen anything like it before. Crazy storytelling straight from Berlin.
Feels a bit like a decent Berlin night of clubbing. Nothing for the faint-hearted.
Big strong and open hearts only.
Left me breathless. Non stop choking, hoping, swearing, pumping, jumping, laughing, crying, loving and of course a lot of dying.
Lovely cast, many new faces, beautiful cinematography, amazing score.
Doctor, doctor I've got ants in my pants.
Bring on the next episodes!!

While "The Pitt" successfully balances intense medical cases with character-driven storytelling, "Berlin ER" seems to rely on clichéd scenarios and predictable plot twists. The series fails to delve deep into the systemic issues plaguing healthcare, opting instead for melodramatic patient cases that lack originality. This superficial treatment results in a series that feels more like a rehash of familiar tropes than a fresh take on the genre.
"Berlin ER" pales in comparison to "The Pitt." Its lackluster character development, uninspired visual style, and reliance on overused plot devices make it a forgettable addition to the medical drama genre. Viewers seeking a compelling and authentic portrayal of emergency medicine would be better served by tuning into "The Pitt."

Really appreciate the difference perspective this show bring to life. There a lot of real emotion in this show. It truly depicts some of horror about medicine and how it play out in real life. 100% worth a watch if you're a young doctor in medical school. I think the first episode might not be for everyone but if you're curious about failures in medicine but from the physician side then this show does a good job.
If you're looking for something interesting new show Will bring out a lot of conflicting surprising emotion in you, then I think this show is worth a try. Thump up Apple TV, good pick up.

This show provides the viewer with an in depth view of the harsh reality of an understaffed, drug infested Berlin hospital. The roles are played out authentic (Berlin accents are correct, people talk slang in a realistic way), the wide shots of Berlin amaze too.
The actors amaze in their way of play- a German, "staring" kind of way. I would recommend this show especially for people from Berlin, and people who always wanted to see how the German capital might look like.
The camera work is fantastic, with a variety of different shots, changes in lighting, pace and sound, this show is really worth watching (until now!)

I was addicted right away and watched it all!
Totally recommended, because it's shocking, exiting and interesting to watch!
It sketches the situation in ERs in a way that it makes you think about the scandalous conditions the doctors have to work in.
Even hard to believe this could be true or a reflection of the real life.
The actors are well chosen and look so tired and almost sick that you can not not sympathize or feel bad, too!
The different stories are diverse and cover many topics.
The language reminds me that Berlin is in a way another world sometimes... but it exists.
All in all: very well done KRANK Team!

This show is scary, heartfelt, caring and intense at the same time, coming from watching few medical dramas lately and Pitt being on top, Berlin Er overshadows all of them.
I had to check how close this is to reality and it does pain to know that while there are creative means to amplify the desperation, unfortunately these are times we are leaving in.
Berlin is one of the characters along the hospital staff and you feel the sadness.
Plot and writing, i watched dubbed, is very satisfying, i thought the fire episode was a bit an overkill but im buying it. It's not full of medical jargon and the case mysteries to solve but gives a subtle and yet real row sense of ER flow.
Acting is what it makes this spacial and gives a relief to the intense background, diversity of the cast and chemistry is outstanding, i couldn't get enough of them, i want to know all their stories, hope apple will get the second season and promotes for wider audience.

Unfortunately, the show takes a nosedive not long after its impressive start. The writing becomes erratic, leaning heavily on melodrama and bizarre plot twists that feel more like parody than serious storytelling. (a opiod addict on full blaze operating on a teenager for example) Character development is sacrificed for shock value, and many of the once-promising arcs devolve into absurd or downright lazy choices. What started as a compelling exploration of life in a hospital quickly spirals into a mess of love triangles, nonsensical decisions, and implausible scenarios.
Its very similar to so many shows nowadays.

We became totally immersed in this series. Really hope it's renewed. Everyone in it is excellent, especially the actors playing Zanna & Ben.
I know it's not totally realistic but according to Berlin hospital ex medical staff it comes pretty close!
I'm a sucker for a medical drama from ER, Greys (totally bland now) The Resident, Code Black, New Amsterdam etc (Still waiting for The Pitt to air in UK) this kept me gripped, which is not a sure bet these days. I'm sure the situations shown are those which have actually occurred at some time! Do watch it - & don't sweat over the subtitles, bits no big deal if you want to access a fascinating & immersive drama!

There are so many medical dramas out there, but Krank Berlin definitely earns a place in my Top 3. What makes it stand out is how real and intense everything feels - from the fast-paced emergencies to the emotional weight the characters carry. It's not just about medicine; it's about people, choices, pressure, and survival. The cast delivers amazing performances, and the writing is sharp and powerful. Every episode leaves you wanting more. It's bold, gripping, and doesn't shy away from showing the dark and beautiful sides of hospital life. A truly underrated gem in the world of medical series.

I loved this. As a big fan of the original ER set in Chicago, it was clear to see that this German version picked up on many of its innovations: the close camera work, tracking the action as it moves through the set, the combination of medicine and personal stories, but what I loved about this was that it stripped away some of the artifice and turned it into an altogether grittier package. Drugs, grime, very little glamour, and perhaps a more accurate representation of life in a cosmopolitan and multicultural city. I became very invested in the characters and hope to see a follow-up series very soon.
