The original actor who was cast as Derek didn't show up for shooting without saying a word, so Carrozza replaced him with Dharmik Patel, an actor a friend had recommended to him. However, after filming some footage he realized that Patel wasn't right for the part, so he found up re-shooting his scenes with Jacob Schwartz who had been cast as the Mad Hatter in a dual role.
