There is no denying the sheer beauty of the footage edited for this documentary. The way it brings a far out perspective to phenomena we are used to witness on the ground is utterly compelling. I especially enjoyed the lightning storms, the maelstrom and the city lit up at night.
Unfortunately, the quality of the visual material is not matched with an equally stimulating script. The ecological narrative is quite frankly naive at best and often condescending, and makes the narrator look bad. Complex issues and presented as inaccurate oversimplifications and while the movie touches on important environmental topic, it falls extremely short, not even bothering to explain them, let alone offer any sort of course of action to remedy them.
Watch this if you want to see some cools shots of Earth from space and learn a few interesting facts. Don't expect to be intellectually challenge and prepare to be talked down to like a child.
