Castle revels and Beckett is a skeptic as to the reason a woman. later identified as Anne Cardinal, a Bigfoot researcher, was dumped at the entrance to an ER with claw marks on her face. When the alley where she was picked up is found, giant footprints at the scene leads to Castle's speculation that Bigfoot killed her. However, further investigation reveals that Anne was using a camera to film out in a forest and caught the beginning of her attack on a video that was uploaded via her cell phone. How she ended up in the alley in the city leads to more confusion. Besides frictions in the Bigfoot believers community, a motive may stem from the murder of Anne's college roommate Justine Bolton, assumed to be committed by her, since missing, boyfriend, Kurt Wilson, who turns up now. Did You Know?

The murder-board photo of Bigfoot is frame 352 of the infamous Patterson-Gimlin Film. Shot in 1967 in the Yakima area of northern California, this is still cited as proof of Bigfoot by many true believers, even after the costumer who made the gorilla suit and the man who wore it admitted to their parts in the hoax. Predictable, Bland, and Atypical
18 April 2013 | by magneto-16See all my reviews

Having become accustomed to Castle's great characters, ensemble interaction, and overall fun, I was never overly bothered that plots are often a bit weak or predictable. Unfortunately, this episode lacked the character interaction that makes this series hum. Everything felt a little strained, all just a bit out of sync. Gags and lines fell flat, and Castle's normally charming willingness to be open-minded to bizarre possibilities was just annoying.

Add to that a dull plot and a(nother) predictable outcome, and the whole thing fell flat. It had little drama and less humor. I'm so glad this is not typical for this series. This seemed to be one of the inevitable clinkers with which long-running series and their fans must contend. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't Castle.
