Castle revels and Beckett is a skeptic as to the reason a woman. later identified as Anne Cardinal, a Bigfoot researcher, was dumped at the entrance to an ER with claw marks on her face. When the alley where she was picked up is found, giant footprints at the scene leads to Castle's speculation that Bigfoot killed her. However, further investigation reveals that Anne was using a camera to film out in a forest and caught the beginning of her attack on a video that was uploaded via her cell phone. How she ended up in the alley in the city leads to more confusion. Besides frictions in the Bigfoot believers community, a motive may stem from the murder of Anne's college roommate Justine Bolton, assumed to be committed by her, since missing, boyfriend, Kurt Wilson, who turns up now.
