Storyline

In a flashback, we learn that Barbie killed Julia Shumway's husband trying to collect a debt. Sheriff Howard Perkins' pacemaker exploded after he touched the dome wall. Big Jim and Rev. Lester Coggins spend their time ensuring their secret doesn't come out. Coggins searches the dead sheriff's house for anything incriminating them but makes a mess of it and sets the house on fire. With the fire department pumper truck outside the dome, there's danger of fire engulfing the entire town. Angie is still a prisoner in the underground shelter and the unstable Junior confronts Barbie convinced Angie slept with him. Joe McAlister estimates that the dome covers an area 10 miles across and some of the residents try to tunnel under it. Written by garykmcd

Trivia

The dog that Joe and Ben find is called Truman. Truman is also the name of the main character of "The Truman Show" in which Truman Burbank is part of a reality tv-show without knowing so. Truman lives on an island covered by a huge dome in which the director of the show can create the weather. See more »

Goofs

James 'Big Jim' Rennie is seen switching some circuit breakers and turning on lights, ostensibly powered by the Gentron Pro2 6000W portable generator that he had been fiddling with just before. But the generator is obviously not operating. No panel lights are illuminated, and the conversation is clearly heard. If this generator's 72dB engine was running, a normal conversation would be impossible. See more »

Quotes

Angie McAlister: What the hell do you want from me?
Junior Rennie: Look, I just want you to go back to being the Angie I knew before yesterday. We were doing great, and then this thing comes down and you you tell me to take a hike. I think it scrambled your brain.
Angie McAlister: One of us has a scrambled brain, all right.

Life and Dearh Under the Dome
9 December 2014 | by claudio_carvalhoSee all my reviews

Sheriff Howard "Duke" Perkins gets close to the dome and his pacemaker blows up, killing him. Big Jim finds in his will that Deputy Linda Esquivel has inherited his house, so he sends Reverend Lester Coggins to seek documents in Duke's house. However Coggins burns the house to the ground. The paranoid Junior has a fight with Barbie since he believes that Angie has shagged with him. Deputy Paul Randolph has a nervous breakdown and shoots the dome; however the bullet ricochets and hits Linda's brother-in-law.

"The Fire" is an average episode of "Under the Dome". The development of the first show is disappointing and does not show anything new in the story. My vote is six.
