The Duck finds a part of a broken needle in the body; Tony identifies a suspect, whom he and McGee interview aboard the ship. Burley, an agent afloat working with the team, learns about the removal of a tablet computer; Tony and McGee find the tablet, and McGee obtains data from it, thereby learning the name of the last visitor to the sick bay before the doctor died. The gang identify the killer and bust him. McGee walks and talks with his father. Written by DocRushing

This episode is an example of a show mirroring real life. In 1988, the U.S.S Farragut DDG-37 hit a storm while coming out of the English Channel, heading south. the chief medical corpsman, HMC "Doc" Boccia was tossed out of his bunk, hurled across the compartment and slammed into a hatch. While he didn't die, he sustained injuries to his head causing him to be evacuated by helicopter to the nearest medical facilities. He was able to be returned, several weeks later. All medical duties during his absence was handled by an HM2. Small ships do not carry medical officers. See more »

For a while Gibbs speaks to Adm. Leroy Jethro Gibbs: He was going to report it to NavCent.
Admiral John McGee: Doctor/Patient privilege is a little different when it comes to National Security. So that meant the end of my career.
