Storyline

Gru, one of the world's greatest villains and fathers, has invented a new weapon, the Minion Gun, a machine capable of turning ordinary humans into Minions. He has let his three daughters (Margo, Edith and Agnes) in charge of training some guests. Trivia

The ride has removed 3D glasses in Summer 2019. It is now a 2D version. In the first preshow, the 3D Goggles info is replaced by a "Life as a minion" documentary filled with a montage of various "Despicable Me" and "Minions" clips. In the second preshow, Gru no longer says "And so help me, do not put on your minion goggles yet!" and "Remember. No goggles yet. You do not want to test me on this one!". Margo no longer says "Do not put on your minion goggles until told to do so by a lab assistant.". During the loading announcements when everyone enters, Edith no longer says "Once in your seat, put on those goggles!". See more »

Goofs

During two-thirds of the second pre-show, before Margo, Edith and Agnes enter the room, Gru's eyebrows were white instead of black. See more »

Agnes: I made you a present. It's a little squashed. And burnt.
Gru: It's absolutely perfect...
[gives his daughters a hug]
Gru: ...and I made you girls a little something too.
[automatic doors open, revealing a amusement park-like party]

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem 3D: Just no....
20 June 2018 | by PlatypuschowSee all my reviews

I've been on a lot of these 3D experiences and I'm pretty sure I still haven't seen one I even remotely enjoyed.

I like Despicable Me and adore Minions so logically I should have enjoyed this but the less than 10 minute experience is simply a mindless cashgrab and alike the others wasn't entertaining.

Lots of noise, no actual plot, just a lot of motion with little purpose.

I'm sure kids will love this, me not so much.

The Good:

Features the original voices

The Bad:

Just pure chaos

Not even remotely funny

Things I Learnt From This Short:

These rides were entertaining enough in the 80's, not now.
