I just want to say. I HATE that they dub over the Ukrainians that are being interviewed. Just put some subtitles on. The program itself is decent. It details of the early stages of the war. The suprise pincer attack, Hostomel Airport, Bucha Massacre, Mariupol and Azovstal. The first 60 days are covered pretty evenly, but then there is a time jump to around 200 days into the war, skipping straight to the Kharkiv offensive and the impact of the HIMARS. I would have liked more focus about how the war is fought; the technology, tactics and equipment. It briefly goes into the use of drones for artillery spotting, reconnaissance and dropping ordinance including showing how civilian drones are modified to carry bombs and grenades. The program states the battlefield has turned into duel of artillery, but doesn't go into more details than that, which is a missed opportunity
The program is Pro-Ukranian and showcases the hardships and determination of their people. Now this could be something the program glosses over to be shorter, but unfortunately I feel like it kinda falls into the camp of an echochamber kind of optimism. Western journalists and audiences that believe anything positive about what's happening. That Russians are mindless orcs. That Ukrainians are kicking their ass while ignoring all the facts on the ground. The lack of equipment and ammunition, corruption and manpower shortages. The fact that Ukraine is forced to fight with one hand tied to their back by not being allowed to freely use the weapons donated to them. When Russia can safely retreat back to into their own territory and use them as their own safe zones. A "timeout zone" where they don't have to worry about big attacks
While NATO slowly debates about what weapons they can send to Ukraine because they are afraid and don't want to "provoke" or "escalate" the conflict. Meanwhile North Korea and Iran have no hesitation sending a constant stream of suicide drones and artillery shells to fuel the Russian war machine.
Even worse is that there are North Korean troops at the frontline in Ukraine, and yet the very same people that scream about "NATO escalation" and "WW3" have nothing to say while North Korean troops are FIGHTING in EUROPE. When your stance aligns with regimes like Iran and North Korea that says alot about you.
