Out There: A National Parks Story

Beautiful cinematography that complements touching personal stories of NPS employees and park goers. Well done and well-edited. What started as a trip to film US National Parks from Maine to California and Alaska evolved into an examination of how precious the parks are to so many people for so many reasons.

Some of the stories reflect intentional immersion into the wilderness, others how the park seduced them over time. The filmmaker's poignant personal history was revealed towards the end of the film. This link to the past and its relevance to the future was a happy, but ultimately necessary twist.

This was such an inspiring and entertaining documentary, including beautiful cinematography of a national parks across the United States. I found the personal stories of the filmmaker and of the people he interviewed along the way very engaging and informative.

I loved seeing various national parks, vicariously enjoying the adventures and also reliving and reminiscing on the ones I'd visited.

I hope to visit the many parks in this documentary. And do a similar road trip.

I'm known for sleeping through movies, concerts, and more, and did not have any problem in staying awake throughout the whole documentary.

I also loved how the beginning and ending were about the filmmaker's grandfather and his travels.
