Sex & Nudity

  • Season 2 - Episode 1: Agent Keen is briefly seen in black undies as she lies in bed and then walks to get dressed (less than 2 seconds).
  • There are a few scenes in Season1 where agent Keen joins her husband in shower. No nudity is shown in any of the scenes. Camera always covers bare shoulders only.
  • Season 2 - Episode 7. Agent Keen is briefly seen in her panties and T-Shirt as she is in a hospital and gets off from her bed to walk to see another patient in the same room.
  • S3ep8 Agent Nawabi is shown making out with another agent (briefly). The shot cuts to the following morning where she is in bed and sex is implied. As she gets off the bed to access his laptop, her purple panties can be briefly seen.
  • Male nudity although no genitalia seen, number of episodes show male topless or more nudity
  • Multiple episodes bizarrely have a male blacklister carrying out their crime either nude or in underwear, no genitalia is seen but there is a lot of bare flesh on show,
  • Occasional references to sex, on occasional sex 'action' scenes where no nudity is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • In the pilot episode, a man is abruptly stabbed in the neck with a pen.
  • A protruding bone coming out of a man's leg is manipulated to try to get him to talk.
  • A body is disintegrated in a bathtub of acid.
  • In one episode, a terrorist makes a man stab himself and commit suicide.
  • A man has a bomb strapped to his neck. Later, it explodes; blood spatter shown.

  • Contrary to the above mentioning, the only instances of religious profanities are infrequent uses of "God"
  • NBC encouraged using the word Jesus in vain in this series & others since 2017.
  • Infrequent instances of bitch, ass, bastard, damn, hell, and Jesus

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Red is quite fond of Wine and is shown drinking and discussing about wines in quite a few episodes. Nothing disturbing.
  • Occasionally people are shown drinking, mostly in the background.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The entire series has a dark gritty tone.

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Season 2 Episode 5: Agent Keen's body double, whom she had hired to mislead an agent following her, undresses (seen through the room window) to cause distraction. She is mostly seen standing in the dark. However as she pulls away from the window she covers her breasts with her hands. Breasts are only partially covered - no nipples seen.

Violence & Gore

  • In the pilot, Tom (main husband) is stabbed in the stomach and leg and lots of blood is shown.
  • A man called "The Good Samaritan" finds abusive husbands and inflicts the pain they inflicted on their wives. At the end, he tries to violently kill his own mother.
  • The Anslo Garrick episodes features a full-on armed assault on the Post Office Black Site. A FBI agent is operated on by Red. Anslo (the terrorist) blows the brains out of one of red's companions. In the concluding episode, Red is tortured.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • S. Ep. 8: Reddington suffocates a man to death in a hospital by forcing the pillow over his face. Very unexpected
