This is based on an Italian series, which is based on Dr. Pierdante Piccioni. It stars Molly Parker as Amy Larsen, who used to be a curt chief of internal medicine at a hospital. Due to a car accident, she suffers a traumatic brain injury that causes her to lose memories of the last 8 years of her life, plus changes her personality.
There are medical mysteries in each episode, like a woman who is challenged by not being able to feel pain, also, each episode moves Amy's story along quickly. It also has a tangled web love story that may not be so easy to untangle without hurt. It is a bingeable, interesting show on Fox and Hulu.

I honestly really enjoy this show. Is it 100% medically accurate? Absolutely not. But it doesn't need to be because it's not a real hospital. It's a TV show. I think it's put together very well, I like the cast. I think they work well together and it's a neat concept For a show. The content that's covered in each episode flows very well to keep you entertained and interested in the patient's outcome. I feel like there are many directions that they can go with this show each episode and even for subsequent seasons. I look forward to the last couple episodes before the season is over and I do hope that they choose to renew it for a second season. I highly recommend.

I see viewers chiding it for not being medically realistic. Go to hospital wards for reality. This is a TV Show. Follow the storyline, enjoy the plot and leave reality out of it, because it will never be reality. Go outside and have a life, so when you sit down in front of the TV you'll acknowledge it for what it is - a show!
Otherwise, the movie is a 10/10. I enjoyed watching it. The acting was splendid, so was the actors. This movie is captivating! Sent me on my knees! Totally loved it!!!
If you need medically realistic, visit a hospital ward. If you need a nice show to enjoy, grab a tissue and a popcorn, and get ready to have your mind blown!

I just finished the first 6 episodes, and once you get past the fact that the main character suffers a traumatic brain injury and is asking to return to work the next day, it's actually a great show. I think the reason it works is because Dr. Larson was a closed off b-word before the accident and each episode we get to see through flashbacks the difference in her character.
I especially like the relationship between her and her best friend. Overall, the backstory with her family explains how she became the way she was before her accident. The antagonist characters feel more like flawed people who really aren't bad so they aren't one dimensional, which leaves room for growth.
I know it's supposed to be a medical drama but it's the relationships and even the patients and their family that make this a compelling series. I'm a nurse and the medical inaccuracies don't bother me as much since the real story is about the character's reactions to the medical mystery. The show does a great job of getting you to care about the characters.
I hope it sticks around; it's been a long time since I've liked a medical drama.

If ur gonna make this show be true to form when u use the terms !! We do not use a probe that big nor not give appropriate sedation for a TEE. Be serious about the realism, some of ur viewers have medical backgrounds!!!!!! If ur going to go to the point of making a medical program make it fully realistic by making every aspect, even the little details correct. Do your homework with authenticities!! Too many times I've seen good programming but are disappointed by the lack of details being correct. Some of the best shows on TV are the clinically correct shows that continue to make the adjustments that make the shows authentic. Otherwise, you have ridiculous shows like St. Denis!! Totally disrespectful & disgraceful show!!!

I think this is a very well-acted and enjoyable show to watch so far. Please keep it on the air and give it a chance. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. 😔 So far the story lines are not too overly complicated to follow, which is good when you're watching TV at night. What's appealing about show is that it gives people a chance to know that they can have a "redo" moment in their lives. It's a TV show about self-reflection in what we can do to improve upon ourselves. The lead character in the show unfortunately got into a car wreck, but if we all had the opportunity to re-examine our lives it would be a wonderful thing.

First, I think Amy and Jake together is not even believable. It's like he's dating his mother. I don't think, attractiveness-wise, they remotely go together. What I'm saying is, he's way better looking than she is. I do like the story of the show. It's interesting and I do keep watching to see what's going to happen next and I enjoy the medical issues presented and how they deal with them and the patients. I don't think it's remotely a "10" TV series and especially not a "10" medical TV series, but it's good enough to watch each week and it has hooked me, which is necessary for me to continue past the first episode.

Just finished watching the series. My wife and I loved it and were thrilled to see that it landed a second season. DOC doesn't try to be something it isn't. It's a strong medical drama that asks the question, what would you do if you had a second chance? The acting and writing are strong all around, and most importantly, it's entertaining. The emotional depth and character development really stand out, making it easy to connect with the characters. Each episode keeps you on the edge of your seat, blending personal struggles with medical challenges. If you enjoy heartfelt, thought-provoking dramas, this one is a must-watch!

Everything about this is good- but Scott Wolf's ridiculous character ruins this show. The antagonist role is poorly written and hyper-transparent. It ruins every episode. It is too bad. This could be good. The Dr. Maitra character is also one-sided, childish and petty. Those two ruin each episode. How can the writers have such good material and then be lazy with the antagonist characters?
Either the Wolf character arc will resolve quickly or viewers will get sick of this and tune out. The rest of the cast and characters are great. Again, too bad that an otherwise good show had to be written like that.

Fox's new medical drama Doc is a standout hit that brings a fresh and compelling twist to the genre. With sharp writing, strong character development, and high-stakes drama, it effortlessly captures the essence of what makes a medical show both captivating and emotionally resonant. Each episode blends gripping medical cases with the personal lives of the characters, creating a perfect balance of tension and heart.
Overall, Doc is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys emotionally-driven dramas with compelling characters. The combination of gripping medical cases and powerful performances, especially from Vann, ensures this show will resonate with audiences for seasons to come. Super Enjoyable.

Fox's DOC has certainly captured the attention of audiences, and with its recent 22-episode season 2 pickup, it's clear the show is heading in the right direction. While some critics may have had reservations in the beginning, those who have stuck with the series are seeing its true potential unfold. DOC is a show that gets better with time-both in storytelling and character development-proving that it's more than just your typical medical drama.
Molly Parker's portrayal of Dr. Amy Elias is a standout, bringing both warmth and resilience to a character who is constantly tested by the high-stress world of medicine. And Amirah Vann as Dr. Gina Walker only elevates the show, creating a compelling dynamic with Parker's character. What was initially seen by some as a slow burn has now evolved into a thrilling, emotionally-driven series that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The chemistry between Parker and Vann only deepens as the series progresses, creating a bond that feels truly earned.
The addition of Omar Metwally, Jon-Michael Ecker, Anya Banerjee, and Vann as series regulars has only strengthened the ensemble, enriching the show's narrative with new perspectives and relationships. The recurring appearances of Scott Wolf and Patrick Walker also add layers of complexity, showing that DOC is committed to expanding its universe in exciting ways.
What the critics may have missed in the early episodes was the heart and authenticity that DOC brings to the table. The show doesn't just focus on dramatic medical cases-it delves deeply into the personal journeys of its characters, offering moments of real growth, vulnerability, and triumph. As the series evolves, the storytelling continues to deepen, and the performances become more nuanced, proving that DOC is a show that rewards patience and investment.
For those who may have been skeptical, now is the perfect time to jump back in. DOC is a series that only gets better with each passing episode, and with season 2 on the horizon, it's clear the show is hitting its stride. If you haven't tuned in yet, or if you stopped watching too soon, trust us-this is a show worth sticking with.

If you could suddenly relive the last 8 years, would you change anything? If you knew better would you make the same mistakes... would it go better or worse the second time around?
Superimpose that concept on a House-like medical show with interesting cases and a mysterious backstory and you have Doc.
It's devoid of any humour but the suspense and the examination of how our experiences shape our character and whether and to what extent we can reinvent ourselves has me hooked.
Plus the music is consistently on point. I'm hoping the actors develop a little more chemistry but this is still one of the best new shows of the season.

The concept of a doctor with 8 years amnesia is compelling. The fact she lost her son, divorced her husband, had driven her daughter away, was having an affair with a younger male doctor, and had turned into a very rude person makes it even more dramatic. But when she butts into the cases of other patients when she's a patient herself and the hospital is not agreeing for her to come back as a doctor...that's so wrong. Why don't the doctors put her in a private room and keep her from getting up and roaming around unsupervised? That makes it so unreal. Sort of ruins it since it's unbelievable from a medical viewpoint.

I'm quite enjoying the show! I like that it's a medical drama that's not overly soap opera! The actors are well casted, their characters match the relationships that they are portraying are very intriguing! The way the story is unfolding shows how well the show is written!
The amount of emotions that I feel when watching this show makes me think about my reflections of how I've treated people and how I can soften myself. Every story is different and you learn different aspects of each character .....encouraging you to want to watch more! It's nice to see a story that worth watching on TV!
Thank you for a great show, wonderful cast and inspiring storylines. Can't wait to see how Amy's life turns out! Have a great day!

Usually, I don't like shows about characters that have amnesia as the main character. So that's why I didn't choose to watch the first episode when it aired so I was scrolling on TV and there was absolutely nothing to watch. I was caught up on everything so I thought I'll try it and I'm hooked. I love this show. Well worth watching. You know you like it when you wanna go through the TV and knock a doctor out. Lol. I think the storyline in the second episode was pretty good. Those that are on the fence should watch a few before they make up their mind because the second episode kinda clenches it. So I like it.

Enjoying this new series!! I hope they keep it around!! And yes even being a medical professional there are things that aren't "true" or just wouldn't happen in a healthcare setting but I enjoy the show for what it is. Ignore the reviews about how it's not true practice or so unrealistic that it's unwatchable, that's not the point of most of these medical shows. It's about how they connect you to the characters and keep the story going. And so far I have really enjoyed the characters and story line. Looking forward to more episodes and where they plan to take the story!! There's lots of directions it could go!

This show is excellent with an excellent cast. I binge watched the first 4 episodes and couldn't wait for the 5th. Please give this show a chance. The actress playing Dr. Larsen really proves the point that she wasn't so nice before the accident. I'm hoping that they let Amy and Jake fall in love all over again and then he can tell her about their relationship. And the guy playing Jake is perfect. The patient stories so far have been very interesting especially the last one with the brothers. I do feel sorry for Michael because I think he is falling in love again. I hope that the mother/daughter storyline doesn't get resolved to soon. You need some things to look forward too.
Has a nice story to it , different than a lot of other medical shows - really hope it sticks around. Shows that people can change from experiences in their life and than in and instant they can get a second chance to do better - will continue to watch hopefully they will continue to make episodes. It's different than other medical shows has a different twist to it that I find very interesting. I am looking forward to where it goes and how the characters improves . Hopefully she can regain her confidence to be the great doctor she was before the tragedy that affected her mentally and ruined her family .
Dr. Amy Wolcott's miraculous recovery from a crash that erased eight years of memories but left her physically unscathed stretches medical credibility beyond repair. The show's premise - that a trauma severe enough to cause such specific retrograde amnesia wouldn't result in serious physical injuries or brain damage - is neuroscience fantasy at its most egregious. Watching her confidently stride hospital halls arguing for her right to practice medicine - while apparently suffering no cognitive deficits beyond the convenient plot-serving memory gap - feels like watching a medical drama written by someone whose only research was reading soap opera summaries. The show sacrifices scientific plausibility for dramatic convenience, undermining its own attempts at serious storytelling.
I usually don't like medical shows but this one got me hooked. The show was well acted and very enjoyable. I am surprised some of you are critisizing it and giving it negative reviews.
I love the fact that it entails that in life you can always go back and do the same thing reflecting on decisions made in the past. The lead actor really portrayed her character really well.
The acting is obviously not that well done but its a matter of getting it into your head that it's just a tv show it's not real. The audince needs to give this show a chance. I absolutely enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it for a watch.

With stunning performances and an authentic portrayal of the medical field, "Doc" isn't just a show about doctors; it's about healing, second chances, and the bonds that define us. Whether you're a fan of medical dramas or simply looking for a show that offers both emotional depth and hope, "Doc" is a must-see.
The medical cases are realistic and impactful, but it's the personal stories-the struggles, triumphs, and everyday life of the characters-that truly elevate "Doc" beyond a typical hospital drama.
My only complaint is that all of the episodes are not released at one time. :-)
