“Smells like bullsh*t”: Elder Scrolls 6 Fans on Hammerfell Leaks
Image
No one can deny the fact that Virtuos’ Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is absolutely fantastic. Gamers are enjoying every second of revisiting Tamriel, but it’s also making the wait for Elder Scrolls 6 more frustrating. It’s been seven years since Bethesda first teased the title with a teaser at E3, back when it was still a thing.

Bethesda hasn’t really shared much about the RPG since the initial announcement. All we know is that its development is in full swing, and it’s supposed to be the developer’s biggest project so far. However, that hasn’t stopped industry’s most reliable insiders and leakers from sharing their insights into the game, but Elder Scrolls fans aren’t willing to take any of it.

Fans aren’t buying the latest Elder Scrolls 6 leaks

A few months ago, leaker eXtas1s took to Twitter/X and shared some...

Daddy-Daughter Review: A break from Andor and still enjoying Star Wars Resistance
Image
After my young daughter goes to bed, my wife and I have been watching Andor and enjoying it like the rest of the fanbase. But before we tuck her in, Brooklyn and I still have to finish watching Star Wars Resistance. For me, it's a break from the dramatic storyline displayed in Andor, and I can enjoy the continued storyline that can teach Brooklyn valuable lessons.

In the fifth episode, "The Engineer," Brooklyn had many observations, mostly about her favorite female characters. One note she pointed out is that Synara San is clearly a better shooter than Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono. She lights up anytime Synara is seen in an episode. In probably the biggest hot take, Brooklyn thinks the ball female droid, Cb-23, is cuter than Bb-8. She has not said why, other than she likes the girl droid's colors and the noises Cb makes.

Star Wars Resistance - "The...

Game Of Thrones: 10 Actors Who Were Almost Cast In The Acclaimed HBO Series
Image
Stars Who Almost Made It To Game Of Thrones ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Game of Thrones has become so iconic that it’s nearly impossible to picture it with any other actors than the ones we know and love. Emilia Clarke’s fiery Daenerys and Lena Headey’s cold-as-ice Cersei are ingrained in our minds, but the casting process was far from straightforward. Before the show became the global sensation we know, several Hollywood A-listers nearly joined the cast, some even auditioning for key roles that would eventually make history.

Imagine a world where Mahershala Ali almost played a Qarthian merchant or Sam Heughan wasn’t swinging a sword in Outlander but instead vying for a role in Westeros! While many could have fit in seamlessly, others missed their shot, leaving us to wonder, what could have been? Let’s look at these 10 actors who almost made it into the world of Game of Thrones.

One Piece: Figarland Garling May Be the Worst Father in Anime if This Shanks Theory Really Comes True in God Valley
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Major spoilers ahead for the Egghead Arc and Elbaph Arc!

The Native Hunting Competition might be one of the most horrifying acts of genocide ever orchestrated in One Piece. Celestial Dragons choose an island for the World Government to wipe out, using their population and some of their slaves as prey to hunt for sport.

One recorded incident of this is at God Valley, around 38 years before One Piece’s timeline. Ivankov, Kuma, and Ginny managed to help 500 slaves escape with the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi. What’s curious about the incident, however, is that the Roger Pirates found baby Shanks in a treasure chest.

Figarland Garling, a Celestial Dragon and now one of the Five Elders, was recently revealed to be the father of Shamrock and Shanks. He also killed the king of God Valley for protesting against the manhunt before it even began, but he was...

As Hollywood prepares to unleash its summer arsenal of would-be blockbusters, Kinepolis Group and Imax Corporation are betting big on premium theatrical experiences with a multi-territory expansion announced Monday at CinemaCon.

The deal calls for nine new state-of-the-art Imax with laser systems to be installed across the Belgium-based exhibitor’s international footprint, nearly doubling Kinepolis’ Imax presence in Europe while extending their partnership into new territories.

The agreement arrives as Imax wraps a robust first quarter and positions itself for a summer slate featuring more “Filmed for Imax” titles than ever before, including the anticipated “Sinners,” “Thunderbolts,” “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” “The Fantastic Four,” “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Superman.”

Fly high with newly revealed character posters from the live-action How to Train Your Dragon
Image
As much as fans of the How to Train Your Dragon feel this live-action remake is unnecessary, the original’s writer/director, Dean DeBlois, returns to the Viking world for this entry. “I decided to revisit How to Train Your Dragon because it felt like an amazing opportunity to not only direct a live-action movie but to be jumping back into a world that I frankly miss,” DeBlois says. “I miss these characters. I miss this world, and I love movies that have a really poignant message buried deep within a moving spectacle. Adventure, wonder. That’s what this movie really packs. It’s about a regular kid who gets to bond with a powerful animal and there is something that’s universally wish fufilling about that,” He added.

Now, you can get a better look at the characters and their mystical, fire-breathing, flying counterparts with newly released posters from...

How To Train Your Dragon Remake Soars With New Funko POPs, Including The Adorable Toothless [Exclusive]
Image
"How to Train Your Dragon" will soon follow in the footsteps of the many remakes of Disney animation movies by getting a live-action, computer generated hybrid film that takes the fantasy adventure and gives it a real world makeover. Perhaps the best thing this new take on the beloved DreamWorks Animation movie has going for it is that the franchise's original director Dean DeBlois, who was behind all three chapters of the animated trilogy, is steering the ship for this remake. At the very least, that means this will pack the same emotional punch that its animated predecessor did, including hints of that uplifting score from composer John Powell returning (at least in the footage from the trailers we've seen so far).

Since "How to Train Your Dragon" is bound to make a splash at the box office in its new form, it should come as no surprise that a...

Nick Frost in final negotiations to play Hagrid in ‘Harry Potter’ series
Nick Frost
The Cornetto Trilogy actor Nick Frost has entered into final negotiations to take on the role of Rubeus Hagrid in HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ series.

It has also been confirmed that John Lithgow will take on the role of Albus Dumbledore.

A prominent character in the ‘Harry Potter’ series of books, Hagrid was played by Robbie Coltrane in the original film franchise and appeared in all eight installments. Coltrane died in 2022 at the age of 72.

Also in news – Lee Unkrich & Adrian Molina reunite to helm ‘Coco 2’

Paapa Essiedu is reportedly a top contender to play Severus Snape. The roles of Harry, Hermione and Ron – the trio of main characters – will likely be played by newcomers, as Warner Bros. launched an open casting call for kids aged between 9 and 11 in the fall of 2024.

10 Worst Jobbers in Dragon Ball History, Ranked
Image
In Dragon Ball, there’s only one true main character: Son Goku. Some characters, like Vegeta and Piccolo, have had stints where they played a brief lead role or had an impressive showing against the villains. But in the end, it’s always up to Goku to save the day. It’s these secondary characters’ job to do the hard work of making Goku’s final battle feel consequential, and that’s what makes them jobbers.

Jobbers are characters whose entire purpose in a fight is to lose to the main villain or protagonist. This helps make both the major villain and the hero look super strong, which was these secondary characters’ job all along. The absolute worst jobbers in Dragon Ball are those who are continually used to play that jobbing role, rarely making any headway of their own in a major conflict. As thankless as the work of a jobber might seem,...

One Piece: Oda Can Get Away With Shanks Losing His Arm, but There’s No Defense for Ace Never Finding Out Sabo Was Alive
Image
Eiichiro Oda has crafted a world in One Piece so detailed that even the smallest details hold immense significance. But you see, even with his legendary storytelling ability, there are some things that leave you going, ‘Huh?’ Such as, how did Ace, Luffy and Sabo’s adopted brother, never discover that Sabo was alive, given that everything was pointing towards it?

Portgas D. Ace from One Piece. | Credit: Toei Animation

While fans have debated for years over the truth of Shanks losing his arm to a sea beast, the mystery surrounding Ace’s ignorance of Sabo’s survival feels like a far greater inconsistency. While some argue that this is not necessarily a plot hole, the narrative’s handling of this situation tells a very different story.

How Eiichiro Oda’s story forgot Ace’s grudge against the Celestial Dragons

From a narrative standpoint, Ace’s deep hatred in One Piece...

Remembering when George R.R. Martin admitted The Winds of Winter wasn't done...and fans supported him
Image
George R.R. Martin is taking a long time to finish The Winds of Winter, the sixth book in his A Song of Ice and Fire series. The last book in the series, A Dance With Dragons, came out back in 2011. Many reasons have been proffered for why it's taking so long, but for fans, the why may not matter. A lot of them are tired of waiting, and you can feel frustration when you bring the topic up online.

Personally, I think it's easy to laugh the wait off; Martin will finish when and if he finishes, and we'll pick things up then. But it's hard to sustain a level of optimistic hype for a long time, and I get why some of the fans who haven't moved on are feeling frustrated.

But it wasn't always so! Weird as it to think about, there was a time when fans were...

House of the Dragon begins filming its third season this month: Here's what to look for
Image
A couple months back, we heard that HBO would film the third season of its Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon between the months of March and October of 2025, meaning the cameras will be rolling for seven months. That's a long time, but House of the Dragon isn't just any series; it's HBO's follow-up to the most successful show in its history, and a lot is riding on its success.

We don't know the exact date when House of the Dragon will start filming, but the signs that they're gearing up are everywhere. We've heard about them casting extras, we've heard about new cast members coming on board, we've heard about returning actors getting scripts and we've seen sets rise in Endland, where the show does a lot of its studio filming. Any minute now, the cameras will start rolling, if they haven't already.

We'll be keeping...

10 Long Manga That'll Take You Years to Catch Up or Finish
Image
While casual manga readers will enjoy short and sweet titles like Demon Slayer and Death Note, other manga series feel like a marathon to read, and with the best titles, it is absolutely worth the time and effort. If a reader really wants to, they could power through a long manga series and finish it sooner than later with a few binge sessions, but manga can also be savored over time. Also, a reader may be juggling many manga and anime series at once, making binging a less appealing option.

If a manga reader wants to take their time with a lengthy title and juggle it with quicker reads, there are plenty of strong options to choose from, including both complete and ongoing series. These lengthy manga titles may take a year or longer to finish when read that way, and they will reward any reader's patience with excellent stories and fantastic art.

The Two Cobra Kai Characters Who Literally Get Away With Murder
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Cobra Kai" Season 6 Part 3.

"Cobra Kai" Season 6 Part 3 doesn't hesitate to give its main characters their just desserts. While the show sweeps several members of its extensive cast to the sidelines out of necessity, Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) inner circles get perfectly satisfactory happy endings, each tailor made for the character in question. Likewise, the franchise's two biggest overarching antagonists get a thematically appropriate send-off, as 1980s uber-villains John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) die in an explosive and extremely 1980s-coded yacht punch-up.

However, not everyone gets what they deserve. In fact, by the time the credits roll for the series finale, titled "Ex-Degenerate," two major characters quite literally get away with murder.

Desiring to gain control of the Korean branch of Cobra Kai, Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim) kills her own grandfather Kim Sun-Yung (C. S. Lee...

Disney just shifted this summer’s Pixar movie Elio by one week from June 13 to June 20.

Typically, the June Pixar movies go out during Father’s Day weekend, but Disney is going a week later with this one.

Elio moves away from being head-to-head with Universal/DreamWorks’ live-action take of How to Train Your Dragon on June 13, and instead will go head-to-head with the adult skewing zombie title 28 Years Later on June 20.

In addition, the date shift for Elio creates space in Disney’s summer slate, giving Lilo & Stitch (5/23) more room to play, with the Pixar title still ahead of anticipated blockbuster The Fantastic Four: First Steps (7/25). Elio will be the only animated release in the wide gap between Looney Tunes (3/14) and Smurfs (7/18).

Other Disney changes are as follows:

However, the Netflix action show doesn't want to overstay its welcome. By dragging on, it might lose the luster and magic of karate in the Valley. Rather than jump the shark, the story ends with a bang as the action comes back from Spain to Los Angeles. It sets up brutal confrontations on and off the mat, brings closure to many character arcs, and teases one extra chapter in store for a key character.

10 Best '90s Anime You've Probably Never Even Heard Of
Image
The 1990s was a landmark decade for the anime medium, as it saw anime gain a foothold among viewers around the world. Many of the biggest works from this era are still revered to this day, be it among those who grew up watching them or newer anime fans who've gone back to enjoying the classics. While everyone knows about Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon, there were several other great anime released in the '90s that didn't get nearly as much attention.

The 1990s had many hits that developed the anime medium in pivotal ways, continuing the artistic energy of the 1980s while also laying the groundwork for anime becoming more internationally mainstream. These included overlooked mecha classics and fantasy works that were right out of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. While they might not have been as memorable as other anime from that time, these classics can still be revisited today.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Sneak Peek: A More Visceral and Immersive Live-Action Remake
Image
Universal dropped the first trailer for the DreamWorks “How to Train Your Dragon” live-action remake on February 12, following the high-flying teaser seen during the Super Bowl. IndieWire got a sneak peek of the trailer (boasting some familiar moments from the animated original) and three scenes at a recent Universal presentation at the studio with director Dean DeBlois.

The live-action remake revisits the Viking dragon slayers on the island of Berk, led by Chief Stoic (reprised by Gerard Butler). The new film concerns the secret friendship between Stoic’s son, Hiccup (Mason Thames), and Toothless, the rare Night Rider dragon. The focus of the trailer and footage was on big-screen spectacle.

In the first scene, Hiccup awkwardly struggles during dragon training, while the badass Astrid (Nico Parker) excels with more talent and confidence. In the second scene, Hiccup disastrously attempts to tame a wild dragon during his test of courage in the arena,...

Why ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Director Dean DeBlois Returned for the Live-Action Movie
Image
Dean DeBlois is getting ready to show off footage from his live-action adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon.” But he wants to explain some things first.

The filmmaker — an animation legend who made “Lilo & Stitch” and the original “How to Train Your Dragon” with Chris Sanders and directed two more “How to Train Your Dragon” installments for DreamWorks Animation on his own — had flirted with live-action filmmaking before. He had sold a number of spec scripts, including “Sightings,” which would have beaten “Stranger Things” to the Spielbergian punch by a good decade. But none of those materialized. Now, with “How to Train Your Dragon” (2025), he finally has his shot.

“I myself am not a huge fan of the animation-to-live-action trend,” DeBlois admitted to TheWrap from an edit bay on the Universal Studios lot. “Universal wanted to revisit this story. It’s like, ‘We’re going to do it. Let...

House Of The Dragon: 15 Harsh Realities Of Being Rhaenyra Targaryen
Image
House of the Dragon quickly earned its place as a worthy Game of Thrones prequel, delving deep into Targaryen history and the events surrounding George R.R. Martin's Dance of the Dragons. All the characters in House of the Dragon have their own unique personalities and traits that either complement one another or clash in a way that ripples outward into the world.

Rhaenyra Targaryen is easily one of the more complex of the bunch. The daughter of Viserys and the only surviving child of Aemma Arryn, Rhaenyra is named her father's heir, ultimately fueling the Targaryen civil war. Things are far from easy for Rhaenyra as she tries to find her way in Westeros, and she experiences numerous hardships throughout her journey.

Updated on February 10, 2025, by Ajay Aravind: The fate of Rhaenyra Targaryen was already decided in Season 3 of Game of Thrones. And yet, watching the plucky Targaryen fight...

James Norton will play Ormund Hightower in House of the Dragon season 3
Image
Filming on the third season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon reportedly begins soon, and we're seeing lots of signs that things are indeed picking up. The latest comes from Variety, which reports that English actor James Norton will play the role of Ormund Hightower.

We've heard Ormund's name on the show before but have yet to see him in the flesh. Ormund is the son of Hobert Hightower, played by Steffan Rhodri in the first season of the show. Early in the first season, Hobert was the head of House Hightower and the ruler of Oldtown, but by the time the Dance of the Dragons civil war begins, that title has passed to his son Ormund.

Ormund is the nephew of Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), who was instrumental in bringing about that civil war. That also makes him the cousin of Alicent (Olivia Cooke...

The Folio Society's Fire and Blood is a Must Read for House of the Dragon Fans Who Want the Real Story
Image
An undertaking over half a decade in the making has finally come to an end as The Folio Society releases the "final chapter" of their A Song of Ice and Fire collection – Fire & Blood, the source material for HBO's House of the Dragon. Stylized as Fire and Blood for this specific release, The Folio Society's sixth and (for now) last entry of George R.R. Martin's high fantasy series is set hundreds of years before the start of Game of Thrones, chronicling the Targaryens' initial conquest of Westeros up to the Dance of the Dragons, the war and time period House of the Dragon is currently adapting.

Notably, Fire & Blood's original 2018 release marked the last time George R.R. Martin published any new material for the franchise. This sadly means The Folio Society is now fully up to date with A Song of Ice and Fire – but the collection is going out in style,...

Dimension 20’s ‘Gauntlet at the Garden’ Review: Hilarious Madison Square Garden Show Sets a High Bar for Dungeons and Dragons Live Shows
Image
Madison Square Garden was sold-out and packed with screaming fans on Friday night, but it wasn’t for a Grammy-winning artist or New York sports team: It was a group of “intrepid heroes” who have taken over the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Dimension 20, a group of D&d players who specialize in monster slaying and absurd improv on the streaming service Dropout, took Msg by storm for their first major live show, “Gauntlet at the Garden.” Led by their dungeon master Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Dimension 20 crew, made up of Zac Oyama, Emily Axford, Lou Wilson, Brian Murphy, Ally Beardsley and Siobhan Thompson, revisited their popular NYC-inspired Unsleeping City campaign. However, D20 fans were in for a treat as surprise crossover characters from other games popped into the show after being influenced by random dice rolls from the audience. Once considered a niche, nerdy hobby, Dungeons and Dragons has rocketed to mainstream popularity,...

Image
The Unsleeping City will awaken Friday night with a live version of Dropout’s “Dimension 20” at Madison Square Garden. The Dungeons-and-Dragons-actual-play-esque show will feature game master Brennan Lee Mulligan and his cast of “intrepid heroes”: Ally Beardsley, Brian “Murph” Murphy, Emily Axford, Lou Wilson, Siobhan Thompson and Zac Oyama.

As the team preps for the sold-out event, dubbed “Gauntlet at the Garden,” Mulligan breaks down his game plan for their first live show of this scale and how he’s constructed a new storyline within the New York City-set “Unsleeping City” season of “Dimension 20” that will involve the audience.

What’s your prep plan for the show?

Check out beautiful images from a new edition of Fire & Blood, adapted for TV as House of the Dragon
Image
Fire & Blood is a book by A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin. But it's not a novel; it's a "fake history book" written in character as someone named Archmaester Gyldayn, who's sifting through the historical record generations after the fact. All told, the book takes us through well over one hundred years of Targaryen history, starting with Aegon I Targaryen's conquest of the Seven Kingdoms and concluding with the Dance of the Dragons, a brutal civil war fought between rival factions of the Targaryen dynasty, then at the height of its power.

If that sounds familiar, it's because HBO is in the midst of adapting that section of Fire & Blood as House of the Dragon, which is between seasons at the moment. Now, the Folio Society is releasing a lavish, 616-page new edition of the book, complete with artwork by Audrey Benjaminsen as well as printed endpapers,...

Dragon Ball Gt Isn't All That Bad And We've Got 7 Reasons Why That's the Case
Image
Out of all the entries in the Dragon Ball franchise, Dragon Ball Gt is often referred to as the worst one. It's not without reason, as Gt is the only entry in the saga to not have a manga by series creator Akira Toriyama. When a studio decides to create their own adaptation of a series, the results are often mixed at best, and Gt is a prime example. The story started confused, trying to recreate the fun that the original Dragon Ball series excelled in, but the result had issues.

Eventually, however, Dragon Ball Gt found its own identity as a gritty, dark Dragon Ball series filled with brutal fights, devastating deaths, and solid villains. While Dragon Ball Gt is not without its shortcomings, there are a few key things that the series does right. It's been nearly three decades since the series first premiered in Japan, and since then,...

5 Dungeons & Dragons Stories That Would Be Perfect For A Live-Action TV Show
Image
With the very first edition of Dungeons & Dragons now over 50 years old, there's a multitude of stories out there that could potentially be brought to life on the small screen. Given the uncertainty around what the next live-action D&d project will look like after Paramount drops their Dungeons & Dragons show, there's a lot of speculation and ideation happening in fan spaces about what may come next.

Many speculate that D&d adventure modules would be the best starting point for a TV adaptation, as the hundreds of published modules are all packed with exciting events. Yet there's a difference between exciting events and a compelling story – a distinction many aspiring D&d dungeon masters need to understand – so it may be better to look to the multitude of D&d novels for inspiration instead. With over 500 published since the first, the franchise has plenty of source material to pick from.

What To Expect From D&d In 2025
Image
Dungeons & Dragons has big plans for 2025. The popular tabletop roleplaying game celebrated its 50th anniversary this year with the release of a revised Fifth Edition ruleset. While publisher Wizards of the Coast did not want to abandon Fifth Edition, its most popular ruleset of all time, the publisher opted to rebalance several facets of Dungeons & Dragons based on a decade's worth of feedback. Many of these changes first appeared in the new Player's Handbook and the new Dungeon Master's Guide, both of which were released this year.

The revised Fifth Edition rollout will continue next year with the release of a new Monster Manual and several other products designed to lead players into the new ruleset. Wizards has already confirmed its slate of 2025 D&d products, with a new Starter Set, anthology, and a pair of books delving into the classic Forgotten Realms setting. Additionally, there are at least...
