If you like pirates, you'll enjoy this

An undemanding but enjoyable pirate adventure romp, mainly for kids but probably intelligent enough for adult pirate aficionados to enjoy, too.

Immersion is spoilt, slightly, by a short cartoon-ish interlude and song in the middle which drags you out of the movie, even though we know it's not real. But an odd inclusion.

The music is rousing but pays more than a passing homage to Pirates of the Caribbean which set the modern standard for pirate movie music. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.

Good production values and directing.

If you like pirates, you'll enjoy this.
