- TriviaAfter production on the film was completed, and a month before the film's release, Anton Yelchin died in a freak vehicle accident. During the ending credits, there is a dedication that reads, "For Anton".
- GoofsWhen the crew goes into free fall off of a cliff in the USS Franklin, they are shown to be restrained from falling forward by their seat restraints. However, this would only occur if the ship were decelerating. In fact, since the ship (and its occupants) are in free fall, they are accelerating at the same speed and the crew should be experiencing what we would call weightlessness. Of course, drag due to the atmosphere could create a differential in acceleration between the ship and the crew, but not to the dramatic extent shown.

[last lines]
Captain James T. Kirk: [epilogue] Space, the final frontier.
Commander Spock: These are the voyages of the Starship...
Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott: ...Enterprise. Its continuing mission...
Doctor 'Bones' McCoy: ...to explore strange new worlds...
Sulu: ...to seek out new life...
Chekov: ...and new civilizations...
Lieutenant Uhura: ...to boldly go where no one has gone before.
- Crazy creditsThere is a giant green energy-hand, in the closing credits, mentioned in the movie as one of the possibilities for a ship lost in space.

And shame on the studio and producers who hand projects to these 'directors' and 'writers'
But whose fault is it? It is our fault for watching.
We watch movies where aliens rap to hip hop. We watch movies where aliens from the future think a motorcycle from 20th century is revving fun. We watch movies where aliens from the future think boom boxes are neat. We watch movies where a human is impacted by an explosion, lifted up into the air, lands a parsec away and he gets up and continues to run.
