The show's theme music is from the Overture to the opera "Ruslan and Ludmilla", which was written by the Russian composer Mikhail Glinka during the 1830s and '40s. Glinka is regarded as a founding father of Russian classical music and the Overture is still a staple in the repertoires of symphony orchestras around the world.
In Season 2 Episode 9 called "Godzilla And A Sprig Of Mint" when Christy (Anna Faris) is asked to name some of her friends she starts naming the female characters of Friends (Rachel, Phoebe and Monica). Faris had a recurring role during the final season of that series as Erica, the woman who was giving her twins to Monica for adoption.

Amy Hill,who plays Beverly,one of the tennants in the apartment building managed by Allison Janney's character, also appeared in an episode of Two and a Half Men as the receptionist in Alan's chiropractic office. She,along with Allison Janney,Emily Osment,Jaime Pressly,Sara Rue,and Missi Pyle have appeared in Two and a Half Men as well as another Chuck Lorre show "Mom".
