Storyline

Charlie O'Neal (David Sullivan) is a writer desperate for a big break. For four years he has been writing a biography on the great Sid Freedman (Bob Colonna), a famous comedian from the golden age of television. But when the book's contents seem 'too tame' or dull to interest any publisher, Charlie's literary agent Bruce Halpern (Jerry Bisantz) organizes an impromptu meeting in his office with Sid's granddaughter Rachel (Melissa Penick) bringing him in. Bruce coerces Charlie into interrogating Sid on the private yet scandalous details surrounding his career, much to Charlie's dismay and all for just a few more juicy tabloid-headlining pages. What is the price of a man's dignity? Written by Anonymous

Fascinating and enjoyable film
24 June 2013 | by See all my reviews

Though the movie is only about a half hour long, the characters and conflicts stay with one longer than those of most feature length productions. Bob Colonna was a brilliant choice to play Sid Freedman, an old man who was once part of a major comic duo. Colonna has such presence on screen that it is not difficult to believe that he was once a star. His biographer, played by Charlie O'Neal, is under pressure from a literary agent, (played, but not overplayed, by "this is the way it is the public wants dirt") Jerry Bisantz. David Sullivan as O'Neal makes us feel the tension of his moral dilemma when he gets the story that the old man does not want to tell; O'Neal needs a successful book, but Sid Freeman trusts him enough to give him the "dirt" he does not want told. Bisantz's script provides just enough comic relief, and Christian de Rezende's camera work is flawless.
